Needs to solve the racism problem. Chinese people serving Chinese people the best of everything, everyone else ends up with sugar and bread. Get there before 6:00 am if you want anything good.

Volunteer corruption, rude volunteers, racism, and a complete lack of organization. This food bank tries hard with the resources it has, but needs a revamp something that removes graft. Such as a paper system where hampers are made by supervised volunteers the food choices are circled, printed on a board for everyone to see, and the person getting the hamper is not directly seen by the volunteers, MOST of whom are there for the extra $100 on their welfare cheque and to be in charge of something, NOT out of the kindness of their hearts, you can usually tell because the ones trying to do good make the lunches as a group, and the regular volunteers operate in some weird dystopian social hierarchy where they gain status doling out the free food that was donated by kind people who likely have no clue the indignities suffered by those who just want to get some food and not engage in this strange power dynamic. Wear rags and say please sir

Irrefutably, a sea of knowledge to garner indefinitely and infinitely from this food bank. The existence of this food bank is due in part to the Neoliberalism philosophy of the political parties of Canada - particularly the Conservative party. The clients are primarily the marginalized and socially excluded of this country/society - not surprising.I am glad this food bank is in existence to minimize the structural - institutional - personal and cultural barriers and oppressive systems that are continuously imposed on the marginalized and socially excluded. These are people who are usually socioeconomically & ethnically powerless and do not represent the status quo - sadly!!!!

Volunteer-run, by people who have also been clients, so it feels like they understand your issues.

It's a typical food bank, and like others suffers a lack of fresh produce and quality choices, but that's also typical of stressed donation system. More diversity in the staff and volunteers is needed! Many times I've had communication problems just asking simple questions regarding the food being served, like is there any fish or seafood in this meal? Followed by a " huh?".....Not a friendly or welcoming place
