Always a good experience dealing with Ron, we book the hall for monthly meetings and he is always ensuring we are happy with the facility.Ron goes out of his way to check on the availability of microphones and the computer projector when we need it for presentations.

It was very hard to look for a hall for a memorial service for my recently deceased wife. From the beginning, Ron was sensitive and beyond helpful. When we arrived at the hall to set up, tables were all out of the store room ready for us to set up and arrange. Ron was busy clearing every last bit of snow from the parking area so people could walk to the hall comfortably. When he was done with that, he came in and set up the coffee machine and poured the first pot through to make sure it was working. He filled an attractive dispenser with ice and water and set it on the table. Then he helped move chairs around tables and then found tasteful black table cloths for the table where the guestbook, urn and pictures of my wife were to be displayed. The hall was perfect for our purpose and Ron helped make it that way with his hard work and conscientious approach. Elmwood is lucky to have such a volunteer.

a spacious venue with reasonable rates for a wide variety of events including But not limited to reunions , wedding parties , birthdays , wakes, and gatherings of all kinds. The owners have maintained both the property and the building well and in return expect The facilities to be Treated with respect and Thoroughly cleaned after events To ensure continued patronage I would recommend this community center to anyone planning a celebration for 50-100 people

Pretty relaxing area, a nice safe place for children to play. The spray park is very helpful for a hot day. Personally I feel a volleyball court in the area could spruce it up.

Attended a private birthday party here. Nice size community hall. Nice size full kitchen. Stage area. Ample parking both in a dedicated lot and on the street. Clean and well looked after. Available for rent through the community league. Perfect for small weddings, birthday parties, trade shows, community gatherings.

My husband and I were told that the community league hall is no longer renting out the space and I sincerely hope it stays that way. We had a rental contract completed, it was fully paid and we were scheduled for two full days (Friday and Saturday). The person in charge of rentals changed and we received an e-mail about 6 months before our wedding to confirm our rental and requesting our contract info – we sent that in. The person in charge of rentals once again changed and about 1 month before our wedding I received an e-mail stating that our rental would be cancelled if I didn’t send in full payment within 1 week. I sent in proof of our contract (which stated we had the hall for two days) to demonstrate that everything was fully paid. I have no idea how they lost our rental information twice. My sister-in-law ended up discussing with Shannon, the person in charge of hall rentals, about the fact that we had booked the hall for two days. Shannon was unwilling to let us have the full Friday, as stated in our contract, because they had double-booked that day. After she threatened my sister-in-law, saying that if she received anymore correspondence our rental would be cancelled, we conceded because we had booked other services for the wedding and couldn’t find a new hall to rent within a week. We were only allowed to access the hall at noon and the majority of the tables and chairs were filthy and broken. My mom spent 4 hours wiping them all down so they were no longer sticky. The ice maker wasn’t working, Shannon attempted to find a repairman. She said if he could not fix the ice maker (which was included in the contract) she would reimburse us for the ice. My sister-in-law let her know via text that it was still not working after the repairman attempted to fix it and that my cousin had to go out and buy ice. Shannon replied with a frowny emoticon and didn’t offer any additional information. Two days after the event, I sent her an e-mail letting her know how much the ice was. No one responded. Shannon advised my sister-in-law three weeks after my e-mail was sent that I needed to save/provide the receipt. She didn’t let us know that. I texted her regarding this a few days after my sister-in-law because they had also not refunded my damage deposit. Shannon told me to resend the e-mail regarding the cost of the ice and to essentially stop texting her. She told me that I needed to only communicate directly with the hall.I would have been fine with sticking to only corresponding with the hall, except no one replied over the three weeks, and I sent a multiple e-mails.It took a month (October 24th) to receive my damage deposit, even though Shannon said it would be returned within the month (September) and another contact at the hall e-mailed me to confirm the e-mail address to send it to within a week of my wedding.I suspect I will continue to be ignored about the cost of the ice and firmly believe that the only reason that I actually got my damage deposit back was because I kept bothering them. There are dozens of halls in the city, rent literally any other hall.

Decent venue for sportball with the little ones. Definitely needs a little funding or donations to assist with getting some things spruced up a bit. Cracked cabinet glass, dirty foyer chairs, grudge feel. But the place does the job, just needs a bit of love.

Great community centre for hosting activities. We have a weekly scheduled activity that runs out of this building and it always feels warm and welcoming. Two thumbs up.
