Was familiar withy 30+year old furnace.

So my grandma lives part of the year on the lake and when arriving back home this year the furnace was toast. We called right away and got several quotes. We previously had purchased a pellet stove from them a couple of years ago and had a really good experience so I was looking to just keep the business of heating her home with them. Unfortunately I don’t live in Michigan but I was able to coordinate everything with them from North Carolina with no issues. Don and his crew came out quickly and gave us a quote. He even brought my grandma several bags of pellets for the stove to use until the furnace could be replaced. The quote was the exact same as the others we had gotten but truthfully Don was sweet to my grandma so I felt we should just go with him. They installed the furnace on Friday and spent time showing my grandma how to operate the thermostat, she really appreciated that. The install went great and she is very happy to have heat. I will let you know if we have any issues down the road but as of now Don and his crew did everything right and gained customer loyalty from us for a lifetime. Just wanted to share our experience and say thank you to everyone at Don Earl Heating and Soo Fireplace!

I needed to switch from propane to natural gas in the middle of the winter, and Don's crew got it done quickly. They were also cheaper than the competition.They replaced my furnace, water heater, and gas fireplace. They also converted my range and added a gas option for my dryer.My crawl space was not meant for humans, but they went down there and did what they had to do with minimal complaints.They also coordinated with DTE to make the switch seamless and easy for me.I should also add that I had new flooring installed prior to them coming, and they took proper precautions not to damage it.I plan to install central air this summer and I know I'll be going back to Don Earl.

Had issues with my fireplace in St. Ignace and they came out and repaired it (which required putting up scaffolding in the winter). Fantastic job and wonderful nice workers. Definitely call these guys!!

Everyone was really nice. Definitely a high end showroom. If you are on a budget, probably get a stove at tractor supply

This review is a 1 and 5 star review averaged together.So I a heating issue. Appointment was prompt, tech was on time. He came in, spent a only a few minutes looking at the unit before telling me I should call a different company to service unit because it might be under their warranty.While the tech was here, I asked the for a quote to move a gas line. Tech said ok, looked, and left. I never heard anything back from company about the quote, but I received a bill for the previous service call for a $95 trip charge. I called in and spoke to Don who reduced the trip charge due to the quick nature of the call, and lack response in providing the quote that as asked for.Thank you for making the trip fee right, but when a client asks for a quote and wants to spend money with your business you probably shouldn't ignore them. My bet is the tech got back and never followed up on it and it fell through the cracks. Either way, this was both a bad, and good experience with this company.

I will never do business with Don or this company. I have been trying to get my furnace replaced for some time now. He set a time to come out and never showed or called. I called the next week and the female I talked to had one story and him another. Needless to say he never cared to do the furnace by showing poor business practice and never coming out instead of just saying he wasn’t interested.

The hot tub leaked from day one.The owners were curtious but there was almost no service on the Canadian side.Once the leaky seals were finally repaired, the pump needed to be replaced.I picked up a new pump but have yet to get it installed - the Canadian service rep does not appear to be available (at least for the last several months).Bought the Artic Spa in October of '16 and it has not been functional for over a year.Definitely NOT the place for Canadian consumers!!!!

The entire staff at Soo Fireplace and Stone are an absolute class act. From assisting in shopping for the perfect woodstove for our house through installation, they have been prompt and professional. I would highly recommend this locally owned business!

If you want a wood-burning stove, they have plenty and will be happy to sell you one. If you already have purchased one and it is no longer under warranty, you're out of luck.I called to see if they have a service package to do things like check fire-brick, stove pipe, clean and check dampers, roof flashing around chimney (all of which they installed 8 years ago), and was told no." They said that there used to be a guy who owned his own business who did work like that
