admit your patients when they say they need to be admitted to the ward.

I’m disgusted with what has happened in the care of the people that work here. This past weekend my little sister was able to attempt suicide under their care, she almost succeeded this time but luckily she was revived with cpr but has been in the icu since Sunday night but was just woke this late morning. A time prior that she was admitted into their care they left doors unlocked which then she was able to escape which also another minor did during this event as well and nobody stopped them. I definitely think they need better training or there needs to me more staff. Where is the care for people trying to better themselves, when they aren’t being payed attention too!?

My mom did serious harm to herself the other week. Horrible serious harm due to an absolutely delusional mental break. The staff here not only played into her delusion they took a delusional persons words at face value. She was let out with no plan, no aftercare no nothing. Luckily our family had begun the ball rolling on unraveling truth from delusions. Not only did we nearly lose our mom over something she fabricated completely in her head. But she got zero help here she had people backing up something in her mind that WAS NOT REAL. Totally unprofessional and also she has zero help.aside from some pills. What a place.

Dr. Mark Luba should be fired. He verbally abuses alot of the patients there and he also lies to patients regarding their discharge time, while giving them less than 24 hours to leave the premisis before they have a safe place to go even. There also should be at least four more qualifed Psychiatrists upstairs as they are short staffed I think. Clearly Dr. Loopa has mental health/other narcissistic issues himself, and he shouldn't be aloud to continue practicing as a Psychiatrist there.

I will be completing an accounting of my experience in the Dube Centre. My time there was to say the least; terrorizing, humiliating, traumatizing and much more. As I am able to put my account together I will post it in detail. In my opinion, if you thought the Old Battleford Institution" and all of its horrors were gone

Less than 1 star the woman unit clerk hung up on me twice. This place is a joke. They dont actually help youth its just a bunch of people who sit on their cells while mentally ill youth arent actually getting any mental health help!!! I am so disgusted with this place i hope Gary the manager sees this review and properly addresses the way their staff treat people who need help!!!!! I will be going to the media about the way i was treated by the staff today i will be going to every boss every possible person i can i am ao disgusted with the staff i dealt with!

My son has gone to emergency several times seeking help. They finally admitted him for 1 night only. They were awful to deal with when our daughter was there as well. I would never let another child of mine see Dr, Ehmann

I recommend this place to no one except maybe criminals. I was there for a medication adjustment & was abused by a male nurse on a poewer trip & security guards who locked me up in a brick cell for offences I did not commit. The Dube' center causes more harm than good & should be shut down

just take 100mg of dextromethorphan and dont go hereread the entire medication information pamphlet if they give you any meds. my partner was admitted to this place 3 times in a year and no one there was able to investigate and discover that he was on a medication that was making his illness worse.DONT TRUST THIS PLACE TO DO A THOROUGH JOB LOOK AFTER YOUR LOVED ONES.

Dube is merely a holding center to keep you safe if you're planning or at risk of suicide- but has no resources or offers any support to actually help you recover. My son has been admitted 5 times in 3 years due to very severe mental illness. I frankly don't plan to take him to emergency again as it just makes him feel even more alone & desperate than if he wasn't admitted. This province is atrocious in regards to providing mental health care or services- partly because your own psychiatrist can't even admit you to the hospital- but also due to a severe lack of resources in this province. I think Dube was not great - but a bit better years ago. Now it's extremely overcrowded - usually takes waiting at emergency 3 days before even getting admitted-& once you are do very little in the way of personal care or any mental health support. Then they discharge you as quickly as possible due to the huge amount of people waiting for beds. One of the last times we admitted my son a homeless person was admitted before my son. I can't comment on the mental health of that person but can say he kept making calls in the emergency waiting room to family & made it obvious he was trying to get admitted so he had a place to sleep. That's a whole different issue - I felt horrible for the man but the psyche ward is for those severely mentally incapacitated- at risk of self harm or suicide. The homeless man got a bed before my son . If I'm truly honest I had to go to the front desk & demand my son had somewhere to sleep after we'd been in the emergency waiting room from 7am the previous day - to 1:30am the next morning - or he'd have slept yet again in the waiting room. They had a shorter term place for admitting people with severe mental illness on his last hospital stay which was a bit better than Dube - but not by much. It breaks my heart to have to voice this - but if we don't share our negative experiences trying to access mental health treatment facilities nothing will ever change. Not that a negative review can do much aside from educate the public about how horrible & challenging accessing help can be. Best of luck to anyone else struggling with our Mental Healthcare system.
