Buttercup Hollow Pantry
Adorable homey store in downtown Orono with delicious take-home meals and desserts. Cute seating area with a fireplace. Amazing custom cakes. The soup-of-the-day and sandwich-of-the-day is worth the visit alone! The coffee is great too :)

Incredible doughnuts. Homemade with real frosting. If you’re cheap then stick with the Tim’s garbage but if you want a REAL doughnut then this is the place. Best fritter I’ve ever had.

This establishment is absolutely wonderful. The brownies and lemon squares are to die for! So delicious. The owner is a lovely woman and the staff work very hard to serve the community here. This is a must-go-to bakery.

Buttercup Hollow Pantry
This is our favourite bakery anywhere—and we’ve been to lots of bakeries!! We love their bread and whole wheat buns, their apple fritters and donuts. My husband stops there regularly and spoils me by bringing home their brownies. He knows they’re my absolute favourite brownies! Decadent!! Their pies, fresh or ready to bake frozen, taste wonderfully home made! I’m picky when it comes to pastry and their pastry is excellent! Love their raspberry pies!

Baked goods might be good, but I don’t eat sweets. Other food items are a disappointment. Terrible chick pea salad, greasy and barely any chick peas, mostly pasta. Meat lasagna was very greasy, literally a cup of fat rendered out, obviously the lowest quality ground beef was used. And for all that, prices are ridiculously high.

Drove out to Orono today from Toronto today because we heard that Buttercup had awesome butter tarts. We ordered four plain butter tarts (no raisins). When we got home, two of them had raisins, one was raw (the crust was essentially uncooked) , and the final fourth tart was quite good. 75% of the order was either incorrect or not cooked properly. The one good tart was quite tasty, it's a shame that the rest of what we drove out there to get were not what we ordered/not prepared properly.

Stopped for a coffee, sandwich, and a butter tart. All were great. Nice bench seating outside makes it an ideal stop for cyclists.

The food here is absolutely delicious there is no doubt about that. everything I have ever gotten here is wonderful, even the meals are delicious. I do find this place A little bit expensive but otherwise always enjoy the food and the friendly staff!
