My audit was very helpful. Karanvir explained a lot about where my house is losing energy, how the remedies would work like the heat pumps, and the best priorities for energy saving. My sense is that the non-profit auditors take more time to educate the homeowner. I have had an audit by a for profit company at my previous house and it was not as thorough, and the auditor shared a lot less information. I would recommend Windfall.

Writing this review as new government rebates are out. Personally would not recommend this organization. I had an audit done back in 2000, the energy advisor who did the audit Raymond (Zhou) was done in 30 mins. Honestly did not seem like he checked very much. From what I’ve read these audits take about 2 hours…After the audit I emailed him for help and to clarify some of the recommendations from the audit, he never responded. I even emailed the organization and the rep (Kyle) about how unhelpful Raymond was and there was no assistance there either. I essentially wasted $450 on the audit as no one provided any assistance to help clarify some of the recommendations. I ended up calling an insulation company to check the attic as part of a free consultation and they provided better feedback than the auditor and said the attic insulation was sufficient.* do not use them for energy audits.

By far the worst experience dealing with Pater Walling Certified Energy Advisor" One of our customers removed their energy stickers from their windows. We provided a detailed contract and invoice with the ER ratings

Peter was thorough in his energy audit and very knowledgeable. Like that the advice is unbiased. Glad we used Windfall.

The appointment was easy to book. The consultant was very good and the home audit went very smoothly. The email confirmation that we could proceed with the HVAC installation was received on the same day as the audit.

The Energy Adviser knew what he was doing. His advice was detailed and clear. Professionals in the backend were very knowledgeable, helpful and prompt. They pro-actively altered me of the changes in policies and promotions. Overall, a great company to work with. Fully satisfied.

The auditor (Ned) didnt feel like checking my attic as he felt it was too complicated (i have three accesses) . Once the audit was over he told me I would get my report within 2 weeks. 3 months later I got a report (unofficial) and never heard back from him or the company (Kai). I responded within minutes of them sending reports with questions that fell on deaf ears, none of my emails were answered over several months DESPITE cc'ing the company leaders. $500 in the toilet. Don't fall for that non-profit bs they are exactly the same price as everyone else so someone IS making a profit (ie in salaries).

I chose Windfall Energy Centre for my energy audit because they are a non-profit social enterprise. They provide energy saving advice and do not sell any products. Both initial and post retrofit energy audits went smoothly. Energy Advisor Peter Walling was profesional, very knowledgeable and helpful. Communication with Eric Lam at Windfall office to arrange appointments was easy and very good.

I retained Windfall Ecology Centre to undertake my baseline home energy audit in September of 2021. An advisor, who was working in a part-time capacity and undertaking their certification process at the time, was assigned to my file. This individual required significant guidance during the audit, asking questions a typical homeowner would have difficulty answering. They also neglected to collect all necessary information, which resulted in the need for significant back-and-forth following the site visit and blower door test. Finally, the individual failed to complete and circulate the report and associated materials to me and the Government of Canada (Greener Homes Grant Program) in a timely fashion. In total, the process took over 12 months. The certification process was used to rationalize the delay. This is not my problem. I am a paying customer, and my expectation is that the work be completed to an appropriate level of quality in a timely fashion. I am extremely disappointed with the experience, and would absolutely never recommend the company.
