Gals Designated Drivers

Used this service 3 times with no problem. 4th time not the same at all. The driver informed me 3 blocks from my house the charge would be $60-70 at witch time I said a few choice words for him. He then talked into a communication device of some sort and told the person following he was terminating this drive. At which time I told him I was calling the the police. He then continue the last 3 blocks to my home in glen more couldn’t turn in my driveway but had a hard time parking at which time I told him to park in front of the house. Got out talked to the girl who was following us and asked what the charge would be. She told me $30 and change which was what it has always had been. I gave her $40 dollars and asked what was going on with the guy driving my truck at which time she was very apologetic for the guy said he was a new driver apologize over and over. I don’t no if he or she was pulling some sort of scam. But I will not be using this service ever again and will let all of the people I have told to use this service not too.

I really can't believe all the negative reviews. I've used this service ever since they opened, mostly for rides from Kelowna to Lake Country. I have taken cabs before and the price is about the same. Always felt safe and comfortable.

I am sharing my review based on communication with this company. I had inquired about a service having a driver" for our wine tour. I decided to book with Gals when they reached back out to me about their service. They requested I pay a $100 deposit and secure our date

I wish I could give this company negative stars. Called on Friday at 2am and still no one there to pick up myself and my friend at 3am. We call back and they claim to have mixed up our name & number. Fine, things happen. They then say they’re on their way, and take another 30 minutes to arrive. Note that it was -4 outside and both of us had obviously been drinking. That adds up to 1 hour and 30 minutes waiting for this service in below freezing weather conditions. Then, to top things off, a 12KM, 15 minute drive regarded by Clifton, the “fabulous” owner of this company as “Tim buck two”, we were charged 50 dollars! That price would have been outrageous even if we didn’t have to wait an hour and a half. Calling back a few nights later to rectify this situation where my friend and I felt very taken advantage of, Clifton, the man who runs Gals Designated drivers - man...what? We were told that we were indeed overcharged and he wouldn’t provide a solution to take care of the poor customer service he provided other than refunding us a whopping 5 dollars. Clifton was disrespectful and had a very degrading tone during the phone call, which resulted in him hanging up on me. What an awful company. Ladies, if you’re looking for a safe ride home, call DD Dads that operates out of Kelowna - Mark and Paul are fabulous. Not this joke of a company. Honestly, you’ll probably get home faster walking.

WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!Extremely poor service and driving skills. Had several incidents throughout the trip (which we ended 3 hours early & only after visiting 1 winery as we were concerned & terrified for our safety!!!) I never leave reviews but had too as I feel like this company should not be allowed to drive people! Daniel was going to miss a turn off on the highway and he slammed the brakes on not even checking to see if someone was behind us to rear end us- he BRAKED HARD ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE FROM like 110 to a dead stop throwing several of the passengers inside the car and leaving us all scared!!! Upon picking us up and transferring into our vehicle to drive he said he lived in Kelowna and drives around Penticton/Kelowna area for wine tours all the time but had no idea where anything was located. I had to use my own google maps and tell him direction by direction where to go & still he seemed lost. This company should not be in business- if I could give a negative review, I would. They also leave your vehicle running with the AC on for hours during the dead of heat waiting for you while you do your wine tasting. Lastly which seems the least important to mention was he showed up late, and that Gals Designated Driving doesn’t mean women are driving you it is misrepresenting on the website and it’s a guy driving you.

Highly recommend. Our driver was professional and friendly.1/3 the cost of a limo in your own car which opens up the option to plan your own wine tour- safer than riding with strangers during covid and more fun than having to participate in tastings that might not interest you.

Called to get pricing, within 10 seconds operator hung up. I tried calling back and it goes straight to voicemail.

I almost didn't use this service because of the bad reviews but I am really glad I did. The 2 ladies Tracy and Anne were fantastic. The price was fare as well. I would definitely recommend them. Thanks for the great service.
