Ten Ren's Tea

The place to go in Toronto if you want to purchase a quality box of loose leaf! Their high grown oolong is delicious. Unfortunately you can’t taste before you buy but they’ll let you smell the different types. The info on the boxes isn’t 100% accurate but if you know your stuff, you’ll find very high quality tea for purchase here. They also don’t explain the teas very well and are quite misinformed about the difference between fermented tea and oxidized tea, even their signs and packaging are mislabeled!

The teas here are really delicious, but I gave 3/5 because of the flavors. Despite alot of fruit sounding flavors, almost everything my friends and I tried was made from or full of powders which when used in surplus result in a chalky dry drink. If you shake the heck out of your drink or allow the ice to melt to help dissolve the powder the overall flavor is better though, but I think there should be less powder overall.

I stopped in for a Taro, coconut black tea Boba, and they were slammed in there. The customer service I received from the older lady that worked there was great, unfortunately, the drink was not as good. It wasn't cold at all, nor was it very flavourful. The Boba was nicely cooked and perfectly chewy but that was all I enjoyed.

The Hokkaido Milk Tea was super creamy, and the grass jelly was a nice addition to it. I didn't like how the only cup size was large though.

Omgsh soooooo good! I tried the new Starry Fantasy and Aurora Dream drinks from Ten Ren’s. They were both absolutely delicious. I also love how photogenic the drinks are. The service was quick and it’s located in a busy neighbourhood of downtown. I recommend Ten Ren’s Tea.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I walked in to the store and there were two employees behind the counter. One was preparing a drink and the other was just watching. I was not greeted or acknowledged at all even though I was the only customer in line. I waited 15 mins and the employee (in training) was still preparing the SAME drink, and the other employee was still watching. I was still not acknowledged with even a “hi”. I left since I didn’t know how much longer it would be to take my order and they would probably take an additional 20 mins to make my drink as well.

We went with the classic on first try. The milk tea is super creamy and my husband said “best milk tea in Spadina” compared to other places. The tea room is spacious and there are a lot of variations of teas, but no tasting yet.

I found the true taste of tea in it!! The best bubble tea in the city if you wanna put inportance on the quality of the tea.

It was so strange. This used to be the OG location and I was so looking forward to a bubble tea after not being here for a couple years.There were a couple people ahead of us getting their orders made, when it was finally my turn to order, the one person excused herself to help customers who were looking at the tea cakes at the back of the store. The other person behind the counter was cleaning up from the previous order and seemed annoyed when she finally came to take my order.I ordered a Hokkaido milk tea with grass jelly with half ice and half sugar (which I didn't think was that complicated, because it's an advertised top 10 drink) and she responded that they couldn't change the ice amount because it was blended. When I asked her to clarify (because I wanted a regular BBT not a shake) she got increasingly annoyed. So I just said ok and let her finish the transaction. When I finally got my drink it was a milk tea blended with grass jelly chunks. It was exactly what she had explained but not at all what I expected for a bubble tea.

It was alright! Cute boba shop with two employees running the store. It’s in Chinatown. Service was quick and I ordered a Tokyo Sakura and it was decent, the boba was good. My parents got matcha with red bean which they liked.
