A lively bar with fun crowd, great music.The food is amazing. The steak ale pie with mashed potatoes is the best Ive had. The pastry light, the meat flavourful with perfect mashed potatoes. Green peas on top; a clever add. I also had the fries made with duck fat. We ordered it twice…amazing.

Came here for a work event. It's a nice semi small space with a good selection of drinks. The bartenders were decent and provide services quickly. Overall it was a good experience.

We recently held a private event in the upstairs pub, and we could not be happier with how everything went. The atmosphere is great, the prices were reasonable, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our guests were well taken care of. We're super lucky to have this place in our neighbourhood. Thanks for everything Evan, Sarah, and the rest of the amazing Monarch team!

Came here to see a show and was not disappointed. Intimate space for mostly local artists to play, had a blast the whole time. Staff was nice, bartenders were great. Although the venue is kinda small there is a second bar upstairs and a patio too.

Great entertainment by the Orange Devils band. Second Monday of each month. Music is lively and it's great fun watching the musicians having such a good time playing. And they had a gluten free beer!

Great neighborhood pub. Hang with the locals. Pool table and pinball upstairs. Good beer selection. Good place to watch the game.

Surprisingly good food! The chips had a dense crisp shell and tender middle, and we're excellently seasoned, while the fish was moist and flakey and perfectly battered. I'm a little disappointed I didn't order one of the pies, as someone else's pie order smelled so good I wanted to try that too.After dinner we went downstairs for a show, and the sound was great. It's a nice little intimate venue for small shows.

Not your regular pub food. The Monarch’s chef is from Britain and the food isn’t only authentic but gourmet, homemade and very satisfying! An unexpected treat! The very old upstairs pub has been upscaled and is comfortable and woodsy with a fireplace and a pool table. The staff are super friendly and create an inviting atmosphere. There are many options for dietary restrictions. Surprisingly, the pork belly on mashed potatoes with gravy and crackling is gluten free! The Proper chips are cooked in duck fat in a separate fryer so they are also gluten free! Best proper chips in Toronto for sure!

It was a great experience at the local bar. We came to see and listen Canadian bands, one of them was Bitter and Broke band. The place was clean with a good ventilation system. Bartenders were attentive and prices for the drinks were provided. I think it's important to support the musicians, community and people who run local business.
