I was shot with a 12 gauge last year 13 months ago I have had 2 ileostomy reversals with out success and I just was taken in by Dr. Brennerman to do my reversal it's my last chance I can never do it again needless to say brennerman kind compassionate considerate and very intelligent not to mention the best surgeon I could get thanks for giving me my life back I appreciate it

Very disheartening that a surgeon would decline a consultation when he is supposed to be the best !

The good doctor removed the two failed previous abdominal mesh operations, apparently not a small task. I looked like a pregnant 65 year old man ! The original mesh doctor “insert duck noise here” stated I’d never do another sit up ... everDr Brenneman is an absolute rock star and the staff at Sunnybrook are well, exceptionalMy pain and discomfort are gone thanks to Dr Brenneman removing the defective meshes and rebuilding my abdomen! The sit ups, lets just say physically I can do them... Im getting there, I feel I’ve got my life back

For many years I had a large umbilical hernia and many surgeons would not take the challenge on to repair it. I met with Dr Brenneman and he assured me he could fix it. In January of 2018 he did just that......thanks to Dr Brenneman he gave me my life back and I feel better then I ever felt in a very long time. On Wed November 16, 2022 I took my mother to Sunnybrook hospital emergency because she had excruciating pain in her umbilical area. She realized it was a hernia and prior to that she started vomiting. We realized it was serious. After taking lots of blood and CT scan the ER doctors on duty called Dr. Brenneman that it’s an emergency. They explained the situation to to Dr. Brenneman on the phone he rushed down to see my mother and said that he looked at the CT scan and suggested surgery immediately. By 12:O0 midnight she was in surgery with Dr. Brenneman and his team. It took an hour . While I was waiting for my mother Dr. Brenneman came to meet me after the surgery explained that he fixed the hernia without loosing the intestine. A day and half later my mother is alive and at home with very little pain thanks to Dr. Brenneman. She can walk and it is Friday November 18 2022 and she can have solid food walk and is 79 years old. Thank you Dr. Brenneman for saving my mothers life. She will see you for the follow up in 4-6 weeks. God bless you and your team at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Dr. Brenneman has offered me a chance at normal life after I have a stomach reconstruction surgery. He has been wonderful at following my progress to get to proper size for surgery to be possible. Great personality.
