4 stars just because nobody gets 5, ever.I Had the beef dip for lunch.It was out quick.A generous portion of roast beef, fresh, tender & piping hot on a nice fresh bun.Fries were perfectly cooked and hot.Gravy for the fries was excellent, also hot.Au Jus was tasty. It looks like coffee but tastes like beef. Not too salty. I could have filled my travel mug and sipped it on the drive home to S'toon.Server was friendly, chipper, and attentive.Basically, you couldn't ask for a better beef dip with fries and a side of gravy.Just enough that I could finish it all but didn't need a nap after.

My dad grew up on a farm eating liver and slop (or so he says) and not even he could finish his meal at Smitty's. I honestly think they need the grease traps cleaned out maybe??? An inspection would be a good idea for this place.The waitress didn't even ask how our meal was because she knew it was disgusting and that we weren't satisfied.I actually can't believe we paid $60 for such a terrible meal.Word of advice: do not get shredded hash browns or crepes from this placeGO TO A&W INSTEADOn a positive note the toast was really good!!!

Good family restaurant. Can be busy at certain times but a quick drive by and evaluation of the parking lot will determine that. Good food similar to a Humpty's or Denny's style menu. They are licensed with a few beer options. Food is good with experienced servers. They're efficient and quick. Food delivery has been fast in my experiences. Great breakfast stop for sure.

Judging by how absolutely packed this place was on Sunday, you can definitely tell that Melfort Smitty's runs like a beast. Although it was heckin' busy, we were seated quickly, our waiter was super cool and we had our food in no time. Me? I got the Western skillet, breaking another 36 hour fast and it hit the void, perfectly, that I had consciously created over the last day and a half.Yes, Melfort Smitty's, you are a shining beacon of hope, a harbinger of excellent breakfasts and brunches to come.AND, I love that you have your Google hours updated to reflect the days which you are open (unlike some other breakfast-y diner-y places we drove all the way to Melfort for, whose Google info said they were Open at 10 when, in fact, they were not.)Melfort Smitty's, I love you and I hope you never change. Keep on keepin' on!

Great place for a sit down morning coffee. Staff are friendly and great breakfast. You can purchase a whole pie or container of soup to take home and enjoy later.

Smitty's Family Restaurant
This was my first time at this Smitty’s, the service surpassed all previous expectations. The server Brad, displayed all characteristics of a fine dinning server crossed with the comedy of Robin Williams. He made me feel at home, the service was fast and expedient.I will be definitely coming here more often in trips through town. Brad is so good at his job he should be promoted to manager.
