Love this place, get most of my grocery there. The price on the gluten free product are amazing.Fresh local meet also a big plus for us, they also have lots of options on in store cook and bake.Great place!

Awesome store! They have some good speciality foods as well as everyday kitchen items. Biggest recommendation is to try the Big Boss Cuban sandwich (immediately left in the first cooler when you enter the store). Staff is friendly and helpful.

One of my favourite places to visit in the Outaouais region of Quebec is the Village of Wakefield. On an early spring jaunt through the countryside we stopped in at the Wakefield General Store in search of some goodies for lunch and were not disappointed! My husband's comment is that we went in to pick up a sandwich and ended up spending $100 (not for the sandwich but worth every penny!). The cooler immediately inside the entrance to the store is filled with a delicious variety of locally made and produced ready to eat meals and sandwiches. We purchased fresh made ham & swiss sandwich, along with a spinach, feta mushroom quiche and a roasted red pepper strata for future breakfast offerings and hand made treats to take home to our vegetarian children. Couldn't leave without picking up some red wine, local cheeses, a bag of locally produced coffee beans, some Quebecois beer, and snacks that are not typically sold on the Ontario side of the Ottawa River. There are some benches behind the store to perch on to enjoy the takeout feast, although most of the cooked items we brought back to enjoy over the next few days. Lots of variety in products and especially local goods. Staff are friendly and they serve both in French & English. Nice spot to take a stroll through the village and enjoy a day by the picturesque Gatineau River.
