Pet Valu

I bring my dog every month for a wash, he has severe allergies and bathing him once a month really helps. We love bringing him to pet valu. We also buy his dog food and treats there several times a month. To say the least, we are there often.Today, I brought my dog in for a wash. There was a man in the tub finishing up, and I asked him if he had just started or was finishing. He let me know that he was almost done. I just let him know that we were waiting outside because we have a reactive dog. He thanked me for waiting because his dog was reactive too. My dog was fine without any issues. However, someone wanted to wash their puppy in the other bath tub. My dog is somewhat friendly, but can be very reactive by barking, whining and growls. He was freaking out and barking extremely loud. The couple was hesitant bringing in their puppy, and I had asked the couple if it would be okay if they waited 10 minutes for us to rinse him off and then towel him off quickly. I let them know that sometimes my dog can be a very reactive and I didn’t want anything to happen to anyone. The couple were completely understanding and said no problem.10 minutes later, I go up to the counter and we pay. A taller girl with blonde hair (who we have had problems with in the past) informs us that this is a public dog wash and that if someone wants to use the other bath tub they can. She also said that if our dog is aggressive that we can’t bring him anymore. Her tone was very rude and condescending. We didn’t say anything because there were other customers around.I completely understand that this is a public dog wash and that our dogs reactiveness is our problem. We are working hard to correct the behaviour. But I never said to the couple that they couldn’t wash their dog, I asked if they wouldn’t mind waiting and they said it was not a problem. If they had said no we don’t want to wait, then we would have made due. But for everyone’s safety and their ear drums, I asked. They choose to say yes and that it wasn’t a problem. I didn’t ask for the girls name, but I was completely embarrassed. Needless to say, I think we will be looking for somewhere else to go. I would ask that maybe someone could talk to this lady about her tone and attitude towards customers. Maybe something is going on outside of work, and we’re all human. But it has made me feel extremely uncomfortable and awkward to go inside because I don’t know how she’s going to talk to me the next time I’m in there :(Thank you

Staff is always friendly and helpful. They always remember to ask for points card or phone number towards free bags of food.We have had our dogs groomed here as well and price was very good and they looked fabulous!

Says open till 8 pm, show up at 7:15 & closed. They close when they feel so god knows when you can show up, hopfully if I show up a noon they will be open

Friendly and helpful staff. Always a nice experience although when purchasing things like crickets, very inconsistent in their portioning. It seems that a hundred crickets actually means 50 or 120. Considering live crickets can be an expensive endeavor I would rather get 100 every time than get extra a few times.

Not happy with the in-store staff today Saturday the six of March at 11:30 went in to buy some advantage for my dog and a new muzzle for my for.But the stuff all four of them what you busy talking to themselves to come and help me out so we left not very happy I've been going there for since they've been open up.

The store is well laid out, always clean and stocked with products. The staff are very friendly and courteous and always great you with a smile. Their prices are quite reasonable and they have a huge selection of products to choose from.

Staff if friendly. The store is very clean. While you are there to shop for your pets you can meet the store cat, she is so friendly and sweet

As a first time user of a dog wash facility, I found it incredibly more convenient than bathing a dog at home. My dog wasn’t stressed out & he looks great!I was surprised to find that the shampoo didn’t get much, if any, lather. There was no coat conditioner provided…a must when bathing my very long haired dog. Fortunately I’d brought my own brush but did have to purchase conditioner…not a big deal really because it was nearby & a staff member was kind enough to grab me a bottle.All in all, I’d call it a good experience & will certainly return…but with my own shampoo & conditioner.

the store itself is great but employees were all super unhelpful. they all stood at the counter and talked amongst themselves while i hunted around the store looking for something. no one offered to help and no one even said hello to me, just a few half smiles.
