We had a delicious meal at Jake's while on vacation...and the young man working the counter was awesome! We had the Chicken Shawarma platter, the Chicken Souvlaki platter and falafel.

We were in Yarmouth visiting my brother and thought we would try Jake's Family Restaurant as we always try to support the smaller businesses when possible.The staff was super helpful, friendly and nice which is why I am giving this a 2 star instead of a 1 star. Please note this review is based on the food taste, flavour and quality of what I had which was a chicken shawarma salad.Please note that I do not like leaving poor reviews but I need to be honest about my experience. Also please keep in mind that I am comparing this to authentic Lebenese food and quite honestly this should not be called Lebanese food as authentic shawarma is tender, juicy and bursting with flavour. The chicken was dry, and did not taste fresh. I think I ate about a 1/3 of the plate (forcefully) as I really do not like wasting food but I just couldn't eat any more even though I was hungry. I also felt the dish was way overpriced for what I got. I paid over $20 for a large salad and a bottle of water that I could barely eat, when in Halifax I can get a full authentic chicken shawarma plate for $11.99 + tax that includes freshly made lentel rice, chicken, tabboulie, toum, hummus, pickles and a whole pita.I am not sure about the other food they serve as it very well could be good, and I would assume they must serve decent food as this place seemed to be fairly busy but I certainly will not recommend the Shawarma salad.The staff on the other hand were very helpful and really tried to accomodate my diet which I did really appreciate.

It was a layed back environment but spacious and clean nice staff that work hard and also wanna make sure they dont get your order wrong and the food is always atleast an 8 out of 10 for my opinion

Disappointing! Used to be one of my favorite places ever to get pizza and donair, but they changed the pizza crust (too thick), ingredients on the pizza are at a bare minimum and the donair meet just doesn’t taste like it used to. I will say tho, their donair sauce is still great.

Beautiful place with the most incredible staff. Best panzerottis I’ve had in my life and that is saying something. I have travelled to New York, Toronto, Vancouver and parts Europe. A MUST TRY!!!!!

Excellent service, very friendly staff, food was excellent quality with a large variety to choose from. The donair meat is the best around. The pizza slices are huge!!! Well worth the money. Lots of vegan options and some Gluten sensitive options as well.

It's always a great place to go, any time we're back in the Yarmouth area we cannot go without stopping by. The service is amazing and the food is always delicious!!

The finest doniars and cheese garlic fingers in SW Nova, perhaps in all of NS. Food was super good, perfect. Heaps of donair meat on my donair. Plenty of donair sauce for my garlic fingers and donair. Gotta hit this place again it was very good.

Classic and go-to place in Yarmouth, food here is done really well and the pizza is out-of-your-way good! The prices are reasonable.
