July Ponds and Landscaping

This is the third year Chris will be opening our pond for the summer season. I find him to be professional and hard working. He shows up when he says he is going to. Chris located and fixed our leaking problem by rearranging some rocks and earth at the top of a small waterfall. I trust him to do a good job. When he opens the pond that is my indication that summer is soon approaching!

From design to completion the folks at July Ponds did a great job.Chris and his team created a beautiful Waterfall Feature that our family, friends and neighbors cant stop complementing it.

Great quality of service! They did my pond maintenance and took the time to explain everything they were doing and why, plus showed me how to keep the pond healthy during the summer.

I had a leak in my two tier water feature and hired Chris at July Ponds. He came highly regarded by Glen Echo, I fine establishment. After his initial investigation, he provided a quote to clean, search and find leak and repair, replace the pump and chamber box and added some underwater lights for a price in the thousands. I agreed. After his investigation, he assured me the bottom tier was leaking and needs to be cleaned stripped search and repaired. The underground water line (from pump chamber to waterfall box) has been pressurized and confirmed No leaks so all is good there. He finished the job, I was pleased with what I saw and I e-transferred him the full amount and thought all was good. A few days later I noticed the need to put in water every couple of days. I thought it was evaporation but after 20 years of dealing with the feature, that was never the issue for me. Upon speaking with Chris he said to watch it carefully and note changes which I did for 2 weeks. I found through my investigation, the top tier was loosing water and needed to be dropped by 4”. He said since he did not do any work on the top tier therefore it would be extra and he would come back and remove 4” from the top waterfall rock for $500. He came back and did the work and billed me another $500. Days later I noticed we needed to top up again with water. I told him to return so I can pay him but to also make good on the work he did. After many attempts to get him to return, he stopped answering my calls and emails. The new season is upon us, 2021 and I stripped the top tier and fixed the leak which happened to be from the liner, it was not properly sealed by Chris. Now that I have the feature open for the season, the top tier no longer leaks after a week of checking but now it leaks again. I have come to conclusion that the leak is either the bottom tier or the underground line, leaning with this line. He assured me the line held pressure therefore no leaks. So what am I to think. Process of elimination and common sense dictates my actions. Conclusion in my opinion….this service i bought from Chris in opening the water feature and making good on the leak cost me considerable thousands and here I am in the same spot I was from the beginning. Why did Chris not come back to collect the money I owed him you ask, he wanted me to etransfer him the money but I wanted him to come back and make good on the work he did on the top tier and then I would pay him in full on the spot like I did the first time. I need to protect my interests. He refuses to come and make good. BTW, the lights he sold me and installed stopped working the next season effectively only getting about 3 months use and now they are garbage. I too told him this but did not get a reply. I work hard for my money…..perhaps he does too but he has a funny way of showing his integrity and professionalism. This review is not to bash Chris, rather to alert others to keep guard.

Chris and his helper are really nice people and they do the job exactly as you want it. We were very pleased with both times I hired them.

We contacted July Ponds after inheriting a pond and fish in our new home. After the first friendly and super informative phone call we booked to have our pond serviced. The experience was great, the pond was thoroughly cleaned, treated and set up. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to answering any questions I had.

Chris is an absolutely amazing guy to work with. Professional, reasonably priced and excellent workmanship. Delighted to leave this review.

Very happy with July Ponds. Chris was great and the pond is beautiful - exactly what I wanted and more. They also were able to step in and pull and replace our well pump when ours died just at the end of the job.
