Tali is an excellent child therapist, she is one of the best in Toronto.

This review is long overdue. My son has participated in the Cogmed memory training course provided by Dr Shenfield and Associates, and benefited greatly from it. As a child with ADHD, Alex struggled with focusing on the books and lessons being given to him in school. Before completing the COGMED course, one of Alex's biggest obstacles was reading. At times it was almost as if he would forget that certain words existed until he was looking directly at them. This issue not only affected his ease of comprehension, but I could tell that it hurt his confidence and general happiness as well. He experienced a similar frustration when it came to numbers and math. Then he began taking COGMED course and working with Dr Shenfield as a coach. Within three weeks, I began noticing bursts of improvements. In the fifth week of Alex's COGMED course, I could visually and statistically see his improvements. Shorthand reading tasks became much easier, enabling him to keep his focus and finish sooner. His progress in math was evident as well, as he began breezing through long division worksheets with more confidence and efficiency than he had before. Most importantly though, Alex had a renewed excitement when it came to learning, all stemming from his COGMED sessions. Six months later at his follow-up interview, this renewed excitement had evolved into an easygoing calm and confidence throughout his entire character. It is amazing to see just how influential a person's working memory is to every facet of their life. In fact, Dr. Shenfield was so impressed with Alex's success at Cogmed that she suggested we take him to local psychologist for gifted testing.

Our 4 year old was dealing with separation anxiety when he started school and it was very upsetting. After speaking with our family doctor and some professionals in our community we took our son in for an assessment with Dr. Tali Shenfield so we could put a plan in place to help him before his separation anxiety impacted his learning. After the assessment we took our son for play therapy sessions which we found to be very effective. The toys, puppets, games, and art materials helped him learn to express his feelings and reasons behind them and he learned ways to cope. We also learned some techniques that we could use to help our son as well. We’ve seen remarkable improvements in our son already and we definitely recommend Dr. Tali Shenfield’s services. Dr. Shenfield is professional and knowledgeable psychologist and she is great with kids and adults.

We decided to see a child psychologist when my younger son started having serious problems at school. We were on a waitlist for Tali for 8 months. Glad we didn't give up. It took over 6 months of therapy, but now he is doing much better at school and a lot less impulsive and angry.
