My son started here when he was 5 and I started in the adult class a year later. He’s 13 now and we’re still training hard together.I can not overstate the quality of teaching we’ve experienced over the years. The passion and skill are unmatched and come with dedication and commitment from every level.We’ve watched the teachers give of themselves on a daily basis. I also see students, as they become more advanced, look for ways to give back and shine in their capoeira community.It’s a beautiful cycle to watch.As my 13 year old takes his first steps into adolescence, he carries a deep confidence. He has something of value to contribute.Through Axe Capoeira, he’s seen what it is to work hard, take risks and experience the rewards.I don’t know where we’d be without the discipline, self expression and friendship we’ve found in this group.

I enrolled my child in the Axè Capoeira's Mini Kids program at Britannia Community Centre in 2021 and found that the emphasis on fun and engagement is outstanding. My child looks forward to every class, excited to learn and has made some great friends along the way.The program focuses on developing movements that combines elements of acrobatics, dance, music, and self-defense.The teachers at Britannia, Lori, Vinicius and formerly Kai, are great with kids. Not only do they provide quality instruction, they instil family values which adds to our own and that is hard to find. There are lots of opportunities to meet other students from other programs as well, such as the the youth and adult students, who provide additional encouragement to support the kids.As a parent, I couldn't be happier watching my child build confidence and fortunate to find a such great program.Thank you to Mestre Barrão, Marcus Lori, Vinicius, Kai, and all the amazing instructors/leaders at Axè Capoeira.

I love the family environment

My daughter has been training with Axe at Britannia for over 4 years and we love the passion for Capoeira that the teachers and student community radiate.

My kids have been training with Lori and Vinicius (Ossoduro) since they were 3, so over 6 years now. I also have joined adult classes along the way.My kids enjoy every aspect of capoeira from music, community, training, Friday rodas and batizado events. All combined, these are great ways to push them out of comfort zone and helps them learn something new every day.Capoeira as a martial art has long history and carries a great message about perseverance.My kids have benefited from capoeira in many ways from increased confidence to physical abilities. In my opinion capoeira provides a great base, which I noticed as my kids pick-up and excel at other sports easily, which I think is thanks to the abilities they gained at capoeira.Also, passion that Vinicius and Lori have for capoeira, and teaching transfers in every aspect of theses classes. I also have enjoyed the adult classes and improved my mobility and conditioning.I strongly recommend this school, no matter what level you are, as the group and instructors are supportive and welcoming. But be ready to work hard.

My daughter has been in training with these instructors since she was 3 years old. She is now 9 and has more poise, and confidence than most adults out there in the world today. The martial arts has contributed to where she is in a massive manner. The intense, yet caring way the teachers handle working with the kids (and all of their students) is world class, and unparalleled in quality on a global scale. The community surrounding the school atmosphere is welcoming, nurturing, and supportive. Any parent should consider themselves fortunate to have such a wonderful resource available at their disposal to help with a child’s development.
