I've been invited to try their new flavors. I'm going to post a review of the ones I've tried so far:Custard: This OG cream bun is hands down my favourite. The buns are nice and soft like all the other cream buns at Hattendo, and the custard is just the right amount of sweetness.Whipped cream bun: The combination of custard and whipped cream is amazing. It's really hard to choose if I like this or the custard one more.Crunchy Apple cream bun: The cream has a custard/apple jam kind of favour with some subtle crunchy bits inside. Fruity cream buns are not for me but I can see some people liking it.Milk Tea cream bun: It has a subtle yet distinct milk tea flavour to it which I enjoyed quite a bit. Probably my 3rd favourote cream bun after custard and whipped cream.Azuki (Red Bean) cream bun: This one is a tie between the milk tea bun. I like how well they make it since red beans tend to make the texture thicker but their cream bun still has that nice, creamy texture.Matcha cream bun: I love matcha and while this one was good, I do love it when it's the taste is stronger and more bitter so I probably won't order this one again.Chocolate cream bun: I can see kids loving this but personally, I'd like it if it was darker and more bitter.Almond Tofu: I was very excited to try this since I LOVE almond tofu but this one was a bit of a let down. Texture is great and the taste is good, but it wasn't the flavor I was looking for in an almond tofu. But if you like creamy pudding, you would like this a lot.Egg salad: It's really good with the right amount of creaminess.Overall, while I do find the buns really good, it is a bit too pricey imo so it's not something I would get that often. But when I want some solid cream buns, I would definitely go to Hattendo.

Overall the price point is way too high for the size & quality of the product. Our toasted Sandos were bland, overpriced, and still quite cold in the middle. Cream puffs may be more worth your time.We got two Sandos (ebi and chashu) and a pistachio cream bun. We requested to have the sandwiches toasted. The total was $26.06.I was quite surprised regarding the size of the product, especially considering that these were premade. I was hopeful that at least the quality and flavour profile would justify the cost. The ebi was rather tasteless and had lost all crunch that was expected of fried shrimp, but the chashu was okay. Both were still cold in the middle after being toasted. The pistachio cream bun was the standout - it was very soft and loaded with cream with a melt in your mouth feel.I would not recommend the Sandos. I would suggest that the business considers toasting their Sandos longer and reducing the price point. The ebi was particularly bad.

Didn’t notice they have a shop around Bay station. Their bun is ok, might try other special favors in different locations.

Missed the free buns but still ended up purchasing a box since it was 20%off. When I asked the cashier if she gave me 20% off, she said yes and I was on my way. But no matter how I calculate it (individually, with tax, everything), they charged me full price for the buns. A box comes with 5.I took a bite of the custard bun and regretted it. The bun itself is nice but the custard did not agree with my stomach or my taste buds.Just disappointed. Will need to give Guschlbauer a try instead.

Beautiful clean new location on the concourse level below Holt Renfrew.Line up out the door moves fast . No cash, debit and credit cards only. This location is a walk away to where we live. We were first introduced to Hattendo on their original location on Baldwin Street . The buns are light and delicious . The filling is a light custard. The first reaction to my choice of aziki filling was of slight disappointment, the custard was delightful, the taste of Azuki was absent .

It’s in the underground floor. It was bit tricky to find it but I made it. I was getting a box for my family and a couple bans for my friend. On Friday night just after 5:30pm, no line. Pretty good. I love their soft and fluffy goodness!!
