Refresh Financial

Very slow to report to equifax credit bureau, paid off card in full and closed it. Always on time and I full. Since losing card 3 months ago, still have not updated themselves to equifax. I’d you’re trying to rebuild credit with them I do not recommend.

Very bad service. I’m not happy at all. It’s been over a month that I have been calling, leaving messages and requesting for someone to contact me and still nothing. And to make matters worst I do not have access to my App and all my money is gone!!!!! Please DO NOT TRUST these people. It’s a scam!!!!! I just want my money back. I don’t want apologies. I work hard for my money!!!! This is not right!

If I could give less than 1 star, I would.When I first signed up with Refresh, I had a nice phone call with a customer service gentleman and all my questions were answered on the spot. He assured me that I would be able to build my credit back up with no problem. Everything seemed great!I had 2 secured loans for 3 years and my credit score barely improved at all.Now I’ve paid my loans in full (maturity), with no missed payments. Always on time.They have about $500 of my money in equities. I can’t access my account or withdraw my money and they will not respond to me.Hoping I can at least get my money back.I do not recommend trying to build your credit with Refresh! Stay away!

Refresh Financial is a great start to build up your credit. It’s really to bad they don’t have their secured credit card program any more, so if your looking for that then look into Plastk, (NOT NEO(they don’t report to any credit bureau even though they say they will soon they are lying)), but Refresh (and Spring Financial) is an excellent choice for a credit builder loan that will build your savings and your credit!I have waited 5 months before writing this review. They have excellent, very fast responsive customer care, and they report quickly and on time to Transunion and Equifax. Just make sure that you have the money in your account for them to take and it will be a positive payment, the most important part of a good credit history! You can even access your built up funds any time with only a $20 early withdrawal fee.I can recommend this company for credit building!

A very bad experience here. The board is not showing you the right credit score. Equifax is the only reference actually. They brought me nothing at all … actually, I could consider this as a scam since it dosent give you the right credit score.

Good luck getting anyone on the phone seeing there call center seems to be closed 24/7. Online app is garbage.

Refresh financial is a scam. I had two credit builder loans with them, when my loans came to maturity, and I payed them in full, refresh financial returned me my fund for one of the loans, and the other loan just disappeared. I tried to contact them many times asking about the status of my loan, but they never got back to me. Avoid refresh financial at any cost.

They posted a change of address in my credit account because of a typo and my score dropped. Didn’t help when I requested for them to fix it. Now they are holding my deposit for 60 days. :( not happy with these guys

I really screwed my credit up as a teenager by maxing out cards and letting them go to collections. I got a secured Visa with these guys in late 2020. Getting that card allowed me to take my credit from like 350 up to where it's at now less than three years later at almost 750. I cancelled the secured card after around a year because it enabled me to get real credit cards again and I no longer needed it. I now have 11000 of total credit I can use, more if I applied for it, and will be able to get a student line of credit when I begin my professional degree. I don't know what I would have done if not for this service.

Don't use Refresh. There are better, cheaper, easier, more manageable ways to build or repair your credit.I had a secured credit card with refresh for about a year. When I decided to close the account the security funds were returned to me and I no longer had access to the account (I assumed it had been closed).My credit reports (Equifax and Transunion) alerted me the next month that I owed Refresh money and was late on payments. I was confused because the account was closed and all of my security funds had been returned to me already.I contacted Refresh multiple times over the next few days to try and sort the issue out.To make a very long (3 year long) story short, they failed to report the account as closed to the credit bureaus. It took a year of hounding them to get it reported as closed, and even then it was still not reported accurately with one of the credit bureaus, which stated the account was open and that I had late payments owing.Over the next two years I tried everything at my disposal just to get Refresh to report the closed account accurately. The entire time my credit score was tanking, and they refused to amend reports that they made of late payments. Keep in mind I had gotten back all of my security funds and had no access to the account since attempting to close it nearly three years prior.It took three BBB complaints to straighten these crooks out. If you're stuck with issues closing your account and Refresh is purposely sabotaging your credit score, BBB complaints are the only thing that will get their attention. NEVER close the complaint file or they treat the matter as dealt with.It takes a long time to get them out of your finances. This is one company you don't want to get into bed with, because they love to screw you.
