Edit: leaving original review below.There has since been a voicemail added and they have been decent at returning calls.There has been a lot of turnover and while still the resources seem strained it's getting better.The poeple that work there remain diligent and caring.End of edit.*************They never answer the phone. There is no voicemail.This is likely due to short staffing and system that is overwhelmed.This is a bad time to need medical assistance.

What an amazing group of caring medical professionals! I seem to be a lucky one as I have zero issues getting through! And the reception staff are so kind and always go above and beyond for me! Keep up the great work!!!

I'm a diabetic and haven't seen them for nearly 3 years. I've had to go to the er to have my blood checked and get my meds refilled. I have children with health issues and cannot have them seen either. They NEVER answer their phone. I've filled out the online email form with my concerns. I've had the ER doctor fax them a letter saying I was suffering with lack of care and still haven't been able to get in. This is seriously disappointing. I'm a mom and my kids rely on me and I can't even take care of myself due to this clinics" lack of care and responsibility. They are often turning over nurse practioners which is the only time i receive a letter from them.The ongoing doctor issue is so concerning. I do not recommend this clinic."

I don't know who the new reception staff are, but she was irritated and condescending. There's nothing worse than experiencing this when you are struggling with symptoms, memory, and putting your thoughts together. There were multiple attempts to cut me off, and sighs of exasperation as I struggled to speak to her and get my thoughts together. This is horrible. There should be accountability measures for staff like this who take their frustration out on the clients seeking care.

Best place I have ever been, I used to have a family doc and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get in and when I did I would have 5 mins to talk about ONE thing. These nurses go above and beyond for me every single time, even though we are in a pandemic, I have never not been taken care of. Keep up the good work!

Generally, they have really good attentive nurses, and I would recommend them, HOWEVER, for those of us with mental health struggles and other physical health concerns like anemia, etc and any other consistent health ailments we’re trying to work through and heal; They phone system is absolutely ridiculous. The reception staff are absolutely horrible and never answer any calls or call back, they go out of their way to not make appointments for people ! There has not been one single time that I have called at any point in the day even having then on speed dial and repeat calling for an hour at a time one after the other at all of their business hours That I have ever been able to get a hold of a receptionist at the front desk. Also, the other horrible service is that they do not return your message if you leave more than one message that week and if it’s urgent, they insist you go to the emergency, but that is impractical for those of us actually needing bloodwork within the week for example it’s an “emergency” if you have been waiting almost months for hear back from the 306 von clinic but not that kind of emergency that the emergency can put in a request for your blood work. Lastly their message machine continues to cut off your messages. It’s increasingly frustrating and I am now having a full on panic and anger attack because of their terrible human communication services. .

There is a lack of family doctors in Peterborough and thousands are left without access to healthcare. This clinic attempts to take some of that load off to provide essential services. Because of inadequate government funding, the clinic is often overworked and overburdened.Despite this, the receptionists manage to be kind, caring, friendly, and considerate. One only need interact with them to experience the clearly deep caring and concern they have for the people that walk through their doors.As for the NP's, I can only speak to my own. Erinne is also a competent and caring healthcare practitioner. I have never been as seen or heard as I have at the VON. I am treated as a person, rather than a pathology to throw scripts at and get out the door. Health concerns are taken seriously, and they will do everything in their power to make sure any issues are resolved, or get referral to where they will be.All in all, I am so very grateful to the staff at the VON. When healthcare can be so alienating and stressful for so many people, the VON is a testament that healthcare can still be holistic and humane.

Top quality Care. I've made use of dietitian and social worker as well as my regular nurse. Sure the phone can be busy in the morning, but I don't know of any MD who can do same-day non-emergency appointments. I'm shocked to see the negative comments. I have heard nothing but High Praise from other patients.

The girls here are fantastic. Unfortunately an answer needs to be found for the poor phone answering and long delays getting prescriptions refilled or answers to lab results.I hate to post this and realize things are difficult due to COVID but this demonstrates an almost lack of care and is very frustrating to someone who has concerns and needs.Please petition the VON to find ansers.
