One of the best places to get meat in Halifax, if I have the time I will always get meat from here over anywhere else. All of the staff are super friendly and service is quick and easy.The meat itself is fantastic, everything I've tried has been great. I appreciate the local produce and supporting local businesses.

We like the Osprey's Roost, but when I paid $25.71 for 2 fairly small 1/2 chicken breasts, that was over the top! Are they feeding chickens gold ingots now? I did call & ask if I could return this purchase within an hour of buying it, I was so shocked, but was told, No" by a clerk. If I hadn't been distracted by misplacing my wallet

Great meat selection and love the options. Service is terribly slow, probably about half the speed of the other meat shops in the market and not because there are more customers waiting. The people behind the counter seem to keep themselves busy but nobody bothers to look up to see if you want service. I’ve had people who arrived several minutes later get service first. They need a quicker more organized approach

The best selection of ethically raised and local cuts of meat! The staff are very helpful, and have or will find the answers to any questions you may have. If you've never been to a butcher shop before, they are more than happy to assist. They also have a beautiful selection of fresh produce and locally crafted sauces, oils, vinegars and spices. Truly a trusted community stopping place.

My favourite butcher shop in Halifax. Hands down. Full service butcher with cuts not many others carry.Couple that with vertical integration of their supply (they raise their own animals on their own feed, and you get a quality of meat and a selection that's unparalleled in town!

An amazing place to find the finest cut of almost every meat. Lamb shanks looked a bit too dried to me but the port butt was fantastic.I also bought and ate the fully cooked smoked bacon ends and I believe it can be a perfect ingredient for many dishes and salads, also tasty and rich enough if gets served with a cold beer!The staffs are knowledgeable, friendly and patient if you need some information or even recipes.I highly recommend this butchery to the HRM residents.

My wife and I have purchased all of our beef, chicken and pork from Getaway for about 3 years now. We pre order each week and go in to pick up on the weekends. Chris, Ben and rest of the team provide great service and generally there are no issues with our order. We would recommend Getaway to anyone who is looking for grass fed, quality meat in the Halifax area.

Purchased a few different pieces of beef. All of it tasted horrible. I believe it was all from an old cow, as the meat was purplish in colour and had a bad taste and smell when cooking.I used to get meat from a personal farm and we would eat only the older cows and sell the good ones and this was identical to the old cow. Not quality for the price. Will not return.
