We had E & R Schwarz Masonry complete some significant foundation work and brick repointing/replacement on our 100+ year old home. The entire team was great to work with from start to finish. They provided excellent information on what work was needed and why certain repairs were important. During the job, there was clear communication on when work would start and how long it would take. Finally, we are extremely happy with the finished product. The work looks great and the bricks that were replaced blend in seamlessly. They took the time to ensure everything was cleaned up and completed to our liking. I highly recommend E & R Schwarz.

Both Richard and Linda are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and willing to teach their customers so that they choose the option that best suits their house/budget. They were willing to work around my night shift schedules so I didn't lose any sleep. The whole crew is courteous, friendly and respectful of our house. They matched the mortar and shingles perfectly and did the whole job in a very timely manner. Most importantly their workmanship is excellent and there were no surprises when the bill came in! I am absolutely stunned by the incredible work. This local family operated business - 2nd generation master mason and bricklayer in European tradition is a gem to the community.My chimney was falling apart to the point that I could pick chunks of decaying brick off by hand, and catastrophic collapse was a very real possibility (before photo attached)Throughout the process, the husband and wife team were personable, informative, professional, and also patient with my inquiries. The apprentices were also polite and respectful of the property.Clearly great pride and care is taken in quality and craftsmanship of the work, and I am 100% satisfied with the outcome, bringing my new chimney up to and beyond code requirements. We were very happy to have worked with Lynda and Richard. I appreciated that they came when they said they would. Richard was very knowledgeable explained exactly what needed to be done and why. He even provided photos to help me visualize. We needed chimney and foundation repair, a door sill replaced and several areas required repointing. He found brick that he and his crew cut to match our 30 plus year old brick and it turned out almost perfectly. We had our chimney rebuilt this summer and after getting three quotes, we felt E&R Schwarz Masonry was the most professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!! Starting with the estimate and ending with the completed work, we were thrilled with E&R Schwarz. We had both of our chimneys re-done as well as a brick pier at the front of our house and they now look fantastic. Richard and his crew were very professional and their workmanship was superb. As an engineer, I was especially pleased to see the great attention to detail in the work.

He was very helpful finding a brick that close matched our 35 year old brick and it turned out almost perfect. The work site was set up to maximize protection of current landscaping etc. Richard and his crew did a magnificent job on our chimney and would highly recommend him for your next job. Well done.

What impressed me the most, beyond the obvious craftsmanship and professionalism of Richard and his crew, was the way the business was run so expertly. A lot of contractors show up when they feel like, call you and say they are coming by and then do not show up at all; they give you quotes on the backs of napkins, they don’t wipe their boots, or clean up after they are done, etcetera. Anyone who has hired a contractor has been down this road. Richard and Linda were a pleasure to deal with. Genuine, decent, hard-working people who gave you the full story up front, and then they call to confirm that story. Every step of the way, I felt like they were completely honest and up front with me. Their assessment of when they would come by and do the work was accurate, and then when there was a change in the weather and they couldn’t make it, they called in good time to let me know the job would have to be postponed another week. Richard’s quote was accurate, and his workers cleaned up and put everything back exactly the way they found it. They even nailed up some loose siding for me while they were up on their ladders. Nice people, very friendly and honest, with a slickly run operation, and a good crew, and they even answer emails. (First time ever I have had a contractor return my emails, and beyond that even, took at money transfer as payment.) I would recommend them to anyone who was looking for masonry work.
