My main issue with my experience was the logistics. There is no parking available at the embassy. Like others have said...if you have mobility challenges, it will be very difficult to navigate the building. The space is a little small...some of us had to wait outside (in January) for our appointment. Once I got inside, the process was pretty fast. The website could be updated to reflect what current requirements are for certain services.

Poor customer service skills. I applied for renewal of my passport since Oct 2022 and still haven't received it yet. Whenever I called the office or showed up in person I am told its the Kingston Jamaica passport office that is delaying the process. I went to Kingston in May 2023 and was told that my passport was mailed to Jamaican consulate in Toronto since December 2022. I went there to pick up my passport and no one in the office have a clue where my passport is. I have spoken to several other people with the same or similar issues. Something need to be done about this place.

I want to thank all the staff today at Consulate General of Jamaica. especially the gentleman, he was very helpful in assisting myself and my family with the process of our passport renewal. He is very knowledgeable of the process. I believe if you are respectful to the staff you will receive the same in return. Don't go there with ignorance, and you will receive the service that you deserved.

I want to thank the people who work here. Not sure why the reviews are bad, I just had a pleasant experience with a courteous lady. The process was simple, and faster than expected; I was out in about 20 minutes, including having my picture taken.They’ve also answered all my calls every single time, might take a few attempts as expected, however, they always answer. They even replied to my email on a National holiday. Thank you for your service wonderful Jamaican people!

It’s been 18 months and I’ve still yet to hear about my passport, birth certificate or any status of my passport. I’ve missed countless family outings and travel’s because of this, not sure what the issue is but someone needs to search for and audit this place.

Not even my enemy I wish to go to that place. I have being calling for weeks went there and that was everyone complain. No one answer the phone/email or call you back. Customer service is below the bar, no parking. I don’t know how I read a good comment because all my experiences are DISASTROUS!!! If I had one wish it is never to go back to that place! Embarrassing !!

DO NOT Renew your passport here, it’s a scam you will not receive your passport not even in a year!!!! I will be drafting a petition to have this place shut down or have it burn down these people are scammers. I did my passport and was told that it will be ready in 10 weeks even after 10 months no passport only lies and excuses. They don’t answer phone or email.

Us Jamaicans actually have it good with the Jamaican Embassy. The Canadian passport process is a lot longer and way more steps required. You can simply show up with your forms filled out, they will take your passport photo for you, and that’s pretty much it. With the Canadian passport you need references and guarantors etc.

I’m surprised as to why this place is open!! We have processed 1 passport application from early February we were told we would have gotten the renewal back within 10-12 weeks it’s been 17 weeks we have yet to received the renewal passport we contacted the passport office in Jamaica in the 18th weeks we were told that the application is still in process no one at the consulate office cares about the public wellbeing that they served. We have explained that we have book out plane ticket to travel what would have been 20weeks of applied for the passport no one at this pace cares. Now we have lost all our money that was spent for the package as we were going to a resort. Please stay away from this place it’s very poor quality services that offered there.

I went on June 13th 2023 to renew my passport. I forgot my debit card and I wasn’t able to pay at that time. I went a week later with no appointment and the staff was willing to help. Overall I had a great experience. The staff was friendly, respectful and polite. If you come with a positive and respectful attitude you will have a positive experience.
