Unique Shoe Repair

I needed to fix my North Face zipper jacket, after going to 2-3 different places in the mountain area they all were charging double to fix it. They also wanted me to leave my jacket there for a whole week. So I drove down to Unique Shoe Repair, the man is completely honest and after taking a look at it he told me I don't need the entire zipper replaced just the small black slider piece that's attached to the zipper. I was so happy and it took him about 5 mins for a small fee I was pleased. The man knows his stuff, I appreciated his honesty and didn't charge me for something I didn't need. The other shops wanted way more money from me to replace the whole zipper (which I didn’t need) This is my place from now on for anything that I need to fix. Shoes, jacket, keys; you name it. Thank you, sir, for your honesty.

I already knew something was wrong when he asked for full upfront payment. The result is not worth it for $40 price, just to patch a hole on my running shoes heels. It doesn't look seamless. It's not done on time. The glue made my running shoes so stiff and uncomfortable it actually tore a hole on my right foot. Basically made my shoes worthless. Much cheaper to buy new shoes. Very disappointing.

Took a hiking boot in to have a fabric eyelet repaired. It was a simple job: fold over the material and tack it down with some stitches. Put a small leather patch over the repair point, glue it down and sew the patch down.In fact I did it myself using my home sewing machine because the repair he did failed the third time I pulled my laces taught.I wasn't in Hamilton anymore so I couldn't take the boot back.My fix is holding strong. Why couldn't a cobbler with the proper tools for the job do the job right?

Let us start with what I think is the most telling thing about this shoe repair place; the fact that they added Western Repair" onto their window below their name. There is another shoe repair store in Jackson Square with a similar name

Incredible experience here with both pairs of shoes I’ve brought him. Kind, knowledgeable, and he treats your shoes like his own. I’ve gotten years of extra wear out of a couple pairs, and I just dropped off another for repair. Oh, cost is also very reasonable. Highly recommend!

For nearly two years this was without a doubt a most excellent shop. Work was later than promised more often than not but he always texted me to let me know that there would be a delay.I erred on my previous review, stating that he had been difficult with me regarding the repair of a pair of boots. He was rather harried that day - very unusual. I took the boots to another highly accredited shoe repair place and they agreed - the boots are pooched.I apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused.

I brought in a pair of boots and asked for it to be cleaned and polished, and for some of the stitching to be replaced. I was told how much it would cost, which was pretty cheap. He tried to push me into changing the sole, even though nothing was wrong with it. Though it had some wear, it was still perfectly usable. He told me it was worn, and proceeded to rip off a piece of it right in front of me. Despite that, I let him clean up my boots.When I came back to get them a couple days later, he charged me triple the fee. On top of that, the polish was overdone and he actually managed to sow one of the boot strings into the leather without noticing. When I pointed this out, he said there was nothing he could do about it but cut off the rest of the string and leave the piece attached, and he gave me a pack of new boot strings to replace them instead. Furthermore, the stitching on the boot was messy and uneven all around. Within a few weeks, the overdone polish started to crack everywhere. The boots are ruined.

Don t go there..... He asks for money upfront .....he ruined my boots....it looked worse after he worked on them.... totally scratched.....seams ...not sewed straight ....not even sewn....using cheap glue that comes apart in no time . Don t waste your time or money......go to the other guy by Nations . He s a shoe repair man

If there was an option to give them less than 1 star, with no doubt I would do that. Regardless of their poor service and high price their rudeness is beyond imagination. I brought my boots for zipper replacement and from the first day, it didn't look like they even changed it. When I complained, their response was *WE DON'T KNOW HOW YOU USED IT* and *HOW IT GOT BROKEN* ! My only words to you if you want to take your shoes for repair there is DON'T make my mistake. My reason for outsourcing a shoe repair was to ask a professional who knows about their job! I was wrong because in Unique Shoe Repair you will give them money for doing absolutely nothing and letting them be as rude as possible, which no one deserves.

They did a great job repairing a pair of shoes that I had torn when I tripped over a large spike sticking out of a concrete block, all too common in Hamilton. I thought for sure the shoes would be a write-off but they were able to make a complete repair and they also attached new heels that I had asked for. Price was reasonable and I had the shoes back in about 10 days.
