FIRST ONSITE Property Restoration

This company has no regard for customers. They provide dates by which repairs will be completed and then leave the work midway to go and work at other job sites and leaving customers hanging for days until they decide to return and finish the work. The company takes months to complete even the simplest of repairs. It took them more than 3 days to lay tile in a small bathroom area because they sub contracted with another company who laid the flooring in an hour and On Site took another 3 days to reinstall a toilet and put baseboards back. They were prepared to repair the floor 2 months ago but did not have the correct flooring-linoleum instead of laminate. When they were replacing kitchen cupboards and flooring the kitchen was unusable, not unlike the bathroom, for days because they don't care about customers. They abruptly stopped work mid week to work elsewhere. When we contacted On Site in the morning about delays to bathroom repairs they indicated that a plumber would be out by early afternoon. No plumber showed or called. The company is willing to directly lie to customers which should make others think twice before hiring them for home renovation or repairs.

Jess came at the appointed time and did her job professionally and in a timely manner. Her interest was to secure the property properly and as quickly as possible! Michael White came to do that, and he was quick, thorough and professional. He definitely went well above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my wife and I were satisfied with his services. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have the pleasure of working with FOS Edmonton on a regular basis. They can handle any size project, large and complex, to small. Management and leadership at all levels are very organized, helpful, strategic and resourceful. I work with some of their project managers as a sub-trade, and am always excited to work on their projects as everything is organized for you before you start the project. It is also extremely efficient working with their in house carpenters and rebuild staff. They are very knowledgeable, skilled, and deliver high end products, consistently, making our combined efforts seamless. I'd also like to add that following behind their demolition/mitigation teams is a treat! Sites are always kept very clean, and their demo crews attention to detail aids immensely in our repair efforts. If I were a homeowner, business owner, or a property manager, I would certainly have these guys on speed dial.

We had a flood back in April. Firstonsite came in to do cleanup and did a great job. Because of this we decided to use them as our contractor for the rebuild. What a mistake!This was an 8 week project. The last thing was completed this morning after 26 weeks. It has been intensely frustrating.The work has been good quality, but getting anything done has been a nightmare. The project manager does not get things scheduled, and has every excuse in the book why things didn’t happen. If we were not on the phone forcing him to deal with us, nothing got done.Bottom line, go ahead and use them for the emergency cleanup but DO NOT use this company as your rebuild contractor.

Terrible experience with this company. Insurance connected us with First On Site after we had basement flooding. Company would cancel work on 15 minutes notice. Project manager was unresponsive and would not provide any clarity on plan of action. Subcontractors we’re travelling to our house from Calgary and we were given zero notice. An absolute joke, do not use if given the option.

Trevor, the manager, was always responsive, even several months after the file was closed, when I noticed an area that everyone missed involving the moulding of a door. He immediately arranged for a carpenter to come. All the trades that work for First on Site called me before hand to arrange to come when it worked for me. All were helpful pleasant people.

I'll start with the positive: the project manager we were assigned was fantastic with communication (even if it was always false promises). If an e-mail was sent I would get a response quite quickly and my husband would always have his phone calls answered. When the work is finally completed, it is pretty well done. They work Saturdays while doing construction. The negative: They broke kitchen drawers and door frames and a towel rack while doing construction. Never gave an accurate time line and would only say yes to any date I asked if things would be completed. A job that should've only taken a month is currently on 3 months and I understand partially it is paperwork with the insurance but for the past 2.5 weeks I'm checking my condo almost daily for the amount of work being done and I have no idea how they are spending their time. I am currently couch surfing waiting for my unit to be done, and it was promised all would be done last week which marked exactly 3 months from the flood. And didn't ever let me know they were still behind schedule. I tried moving home last night after the project manager said all was good to go, to find out there is still days left of work to be done. I am exhausted and frustrated at this whole process and would not recommend this company to anyone.

I had a water flood in my house of a faulty dishwasher and in the beginning, I was so worried from the stories I heard and the reviews I have read online about the hassle and the torturing experience others went through while dealing with insurance companies. However, let me tell you this; gladly I have my insurance with Aviva, who hired First Onsite to restore my house.I would want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude, satisfaction and would confidently say I am very happy with the services; the workmanship quality and the professional standards Jess Gauley -our house restoration project manager- along with her team at First Onsite restoration services company has demonstrated and hence I want to ensure to highly rate this company.Jess did her best to make this experience less stressful to what it was, wherever she had proactively taken the initiatives.Her professionalism, project management skills and communications were amazing during the multiple stages we went through.She was kind and thoughtful about the human needs to keep our place livable and safe wherever she thought she could help in the middle of this pandemic especially with my pregnant wife and kids’ medical condition.In addition to Jess, I also would like to specially acknowledge the following folks on her team :Kevin the carpenter as he was so friendly, helpful , thoughtful, and precise on tasks he performed.Kevin who performed the plumbing services as he was a great representative in the many times he came back and forth to keep our space livable with essentials.Steve Hoyle, the hardwood installer as he was so precise with paying attention to the smallest but highly noticeable details. I am a very picky guy, but to be frank I was impressed by his workmanship.The two guys who did the clean before moving our items back and your moving team who did their best on keeping our contents intact.The guy who did our basement ceiling and Pam who painted our basement’s walls they were so friendly and helpful.I would like to acknowledge our gratitude and appreciation to all of them.I have no hesitation on recommending this company and congratulate Aviva on their choice to keep dealing with companies as such. that would increase their happy customers’ retention.Finally, thanks for Aviva and for Ryan Chapman our adjuster from Aviva for keeping our experience smooth and for hiring such a professional company that I would have no hesitation to highly recommend them as 11 out of 10.

This company was a nightmare to deal with after I had my home flood. I had dealt with Ryan as a project manager and was told my home would be taken care and restored back to normal which was a lie! Im sure the 3rd party company's he had hired to do my flooring and drywall were giving him a kickback ($$) to take first on sites contracts and they did such a bad job from damage to walls and to having someone who doesn't know how to paint take a brush and leave spots all over the wall all the way to having the tile guy cut tiles short or cracking a tile and yet laying it down thinking no one would notice. My house was left a mess where my wife and I had to clean up after there team had come in and do a bad job cleaning. After everything we had Jess come take over for Ryan after he got fired just to have her let me sign the paper stating all work has been completed when there was still work that wasn't fixed proper promising that it would be fixed! Now we are about 6 or more months into this situation and Jess promised last week that she would come see the damage and I booked a day off work just to have her not show up and she messages me later on that day she can't come and would let me know when she could and now almost a month after another attempt from me to message her to see when she would come still no response. First on site is the worst company I've ever dealt with and I will make sure to notify my insurance company and others to stay clear away from using them.

First On-site was super pleasant to deal with and very thorough. Tom went out of his way to ensure that my experience with the contractors went well and walked me through the process. He even dropped by at the end to hang a light fixture left undone. Thanks for making this as painless as possible.
