Got the Apple crumble pie. Not good at all. Too much allspice, and cloves. Why so many ingredients from a farmers market pie. Picked it up at the Collingwood farmers market. Not the homemade flavour or ingredients I was looking for. Kids would not even eat. Buyer beware , should of noticed that it was not fresh when there was a barcode.

Not pleased with the evolution of Don's BakeryIt used to be my favorite stop in Bala.Such great memories for decadesIt's just not the same.Something has been lost?Mass packing of baked goods (due originally to covid) needs to go immediately and bring the old torn numbers back !If they want to ship the mass packages out to grocerers across the province, go ahead , but keep the original bakery the samePeople want to try different things. That should be the place to do it without having to buy six to a dozen of everything?And for God's sakes make more scones ! it's summertime!!

Approached the front doors and as we approached they shut off the open sign. Just found that to be a little rude. We will be back because they have good scones.

I have been waiting from last three years to get my hands on cranberry lemon cake but had no luck as they sold out so quicklyFinally had a chance to eat cranberry lemon cake last week. It is an amazing explosion of taste. The sourness of cranberry and lemon makes a perfect combination and it’s not too sweet as wellMUST TRY BEFORE YOU DIE

Better make sure you get there early. They sell out by 10. And I can see why. Apple fritter is truly a work of art. Every bite was unique in its own way. Strawberry rhubarb pie was delightful and made for a perfect cottage breakfast with my coffee. Can't wait to come back.P.S. docking the boat was simple and a short walk.

Visit June 4, 2022. Excellent quality of baked goods, solid variety of other pre-prepared and frozen foods. Suggest to arrive early to ensure they may not be short of popular items. Reasonably priced considering the quality. Some challenges may be experienced with those individuals who may be mobility impaired.

Wonderful staff and amazing baked goods from breads, brownies, cookies, and tarts. Delicious every time.

Unfortunately our first experience with Don’s Bakery was disappointing. We are new to the area and wanted to get a cake for our family members birthday. I placed the cake order over 2 days in advance, and when I arrived to pick it up on time, the Don’s Bakery employee in the order pickup area told me she hadn’t even started the cake, because another priority order came up. It took her only 25 minutes to put the cake together, which made me wonder why it wasn't already made on time. The cake itself was also pretty underwhelming, as the decoration was below average, the icing tasted like grocery store icing, and the raspberry filling didn’t have much flavour. We won’t be getting cake here again, but hopefully the other bakedgoods are better. We didn’t get to try much, as a lot of the inventory was sold out by noon.

Stopped in while heading home from a road trip. Grabbed some coffee and donuts - they were delicious! Lots of baked goods to choose from with large variety of flavors etc. I will be stopping in again next road trip.
