Woodstone Manor

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation at Woodstone Manor in late August 2022. It is nestled in the woods with stunning views across open pasture where rescue horses graze. We were traveling with our labradoodle, Finley (who we regard as our furry son), and we were delighted to find this dog-friendly boutique hotel. For our friendly, well-trained pup, this hotel was paradise. Roxy went out of her way to accommodate Finley’s dietary needs (freezer space needed for raw food) and he was welcome on the gorgeous restaurant patio. The mini fridges in the rooms are high-quality, and were able to keep our refrigerator items very cold. We loved the little trail network in the woods right outside the hotel, which was perfect for morning and evening walks. The grounds are lovely and peaceful, making it the perfect place to rest after a wonderful day out hiking. Everything is close by (5-15 minute drive to the best of the island). Our room was gorgeous, and we felt like Roxy had thought of every little detail; the rooms and common areas were truly to a high standard. Everything was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The chefs were excellent, and all the food we enjoyed at the restaurant was delicious. We especially enjoyed the specialty dinner event at the restaurant featuring California wine pairing, hosted by the hotel’s own sommelier. The upstairs lounge overlooking the pasture was also lovely, complete with a tea and coffee station (and books and games!). We would definitely have used the lounge, had we had a rainy day. Honestly, we never would have expected to enjoy such a high-end holiday with our pup, but Woodstone (aka Woofstone) made it happen.

I recently stayed for three nights at Woodstone Manor while working a wedding at another venue on the Island and I can not say enough good things! Firstly, the team at Woodstone welcomed over 100 guests to dine in their restaurant for two lunches during the wedding weekend. The service was complicated with multiple options and dietary considerations and the team bent over for backwards to ensure a flawless event. They worked tirelessly with us in the months leading up to the wedding and went above and beyond on the two event days. I would not hesitate to bring any of my couples and their guests back to Woodstone Manor.On a personal note, as I mentioned, I stayed at Woodstone Manor while working the wedding at another location and the team was so kind and welcoming to myself and my family. My son was so excited to be there and was immediately welcomed like he was part of the family. There was a magical toy box that he was able to choose a gift from and he even got to ride on a tractor. He cried on the way home wishing he could live there forever. The room was immaculate, the bed extra comfortable and the food was delicious, but I think it was the extra care attention and welcoming atmosphere that made our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back as a family to enjoy the property once again. Thank you to Roxy, Stephen, Anita, Donna and the rest of the team for all your hard work. We cannot thank you enough.

5 -10 mins drive from ferry terminal, very unique building.Free breakfast.All the staff were very nice.Room are very clean and they provide all the towel, soap, slippers.They only have 12 rooms, very quiet place.We love our stay.We didn't have car at the beginning, Roxy provided us shuttle from ferry terminal.Roxy - not just a owner of the hotel, but also a wonderful local tour lady for our trip, we don't have much time in Galiano, before we leave she making sure we visit the most important must-to-go spots. She told us where the short cut to make it happen.Roxy thank you so much, without you we wouldn't have so many extra memoriesThank you so much!!

Celebrated my birthday at the restaurant. Had a wonderful meal overlooking the beautiful pasture. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Thanks to everyone who came to the table and sang me happy birthday! And thanks to Tommy for introducing us to this place! They offer a shuttle from Montague Harbour Marina for all you boaters who would like a nice dinner option. A real gem on Galiano Island!

We had the pleasure of booking 2 nights at this breath-taking boutique 9 acre estate for my first trip to Galiano, and what a divine experience this turned out to be. From the first moment of driving in through the impressive custom black metal gates, we knew that our stay was going to be something very special, and it was. We were met by Roxie the owner whose bubbly and friendly effervescence made us feel like family right away as she gave us an all encompassing tour. The warmth and grandeur of this antique filled manor is something that can only be felt in person, as no amount of written words can truly convey this feeling as you immerse yourself into this magical place. Our king suite room was beyond spectacular. The very roomy suite with high ceilings and spacious patio was exquisitely furnished with amazing antiques that all seemed to be created by a top notch interior designer. We even had our own private hot tub tucked away to the left of the patio in a hidden little alcove. The large windows bathed the room in wonderful light and looked out onto a serene little valley dotted with deer, horses, and many varieties of feathered friends. The super generous, tasty and highly filling breakfast is the best I have ever had; don't let the word continental fool you. We had a truly wonderful dinner there with impeccable service in a very luxurious setting. Although, we were not able to partake of a meal on the patio, we could see that the view and ambiance was breath taking and for cooler temps they have excellent quality heaters in addition to a feature wood fireplace to make it so very cozy. You can tell that a lot of love and hard work has gone into making Woodstone Manor a very special place and experience.

We’ve stayed at the Woodstone a few times now and each time we’re blown away by how kind & thoughtful the staff are. They really go out of their way to make your stay special. Food is delicious, rooms are super clean and comfy, and the views of the pasture are so bucolic and serene. We love it so much.

I booked last minute for myself and my two daughters, age’s 3 years and 1 month. The service, from assistance with making the booking to check in and the duration of my stay, was impeccable. I was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. As were my children. We felt so welcome and cared for. The details of comfort and decor were very intentional. It was clear every opportunity to go above and beyond for guests was taken. Given the attention to detail and generosity of service the cost of the room felt like a bargain. Will absolutely plan to go back.

My stay at Woodstone Manor was mid June and I booked a King suite on the second floor (window, no patio) as the ground floor patio rooms were sold out. Right away on arrival, I thought how much nicer it would have been to have booked the patio rooms as the pastoral view is gorgeous and the ground floor pastoral view patio rooms seem to have a floor to ceiling style window. The rooms are close to each other but my room was surprisingly quiet and I didn't hear any other guests apart from the occasional water tap coming on and off or a door being closed. The room as well as the bath tub was a good size and wonderful to soak in with my feet not even reaching the other end! There is a sense of spaciousness about this place that I appreciated. There was a fan in the room which was a big bonus as it was warm some nights and I left the window open and with the fan it was a huge help to cool down the room. I didn't have any reception on the island for some reason so great to have wifi all over the grounds to check in with work.I missed having someone help me with the luggage up and down the second floor and although the lady that checked me in kindly offered to help me, I could see how busy they were and didn't want to ask.The island seems to have difficulty with staffing which I was told by a lot of the locals and one could see how efficiently and hard everyone here was working to take care of all of the guests.I appreciated that a small change could be made to my breakfast because of my dietary limitations, which was a delicious and fresh (and huge) platter consisting of mixed fresh fruit, a hard boiled egg, breakfast ham, a croissant, mixed cheeses , jams etc. , coffee and a juice of my choice. They didn't carry alternative milk but the room has a mini fridge so one can store stuff like that in there. There is a quiet lounge where I could work. They tried to accommodate a whole bunch of guests while I was here in different ways, which is a quality that is so special (and at times rare) in a hospitality business.The real beauty of the manor comes alive when one has the time and patience to enjoy it. My favourite part was sitting out on their spacious patio overlooking the pastures gazing at the horses and absorbing the peacefulness of the land.They also have lounge chairs out in their grounds overlooking the pasture and I took one of their complimentary shawls and bathed in the sun with a drink. The stay here truly makes the island experience better, since there isn’t a whole lot to do on the island compared to some of the other Gulf islands.Loved the slow pace and the friendly people.... Roxy the owner’s bustling energy and the staff, Anita, Donna and Courtney and the cute young girl who works there on weekends are delightful and try their best to get you what you ask for. This is what will bring me back again and again every time! Highly recommend!
