Unfortunately, the bad reviews are accurate. We needed a quick place to eat with the family and decided to try the buffet. Big mistake. We were there before six and there was literally no food in the buffet. The kitchen was busy making meals for their takeout customers, but completely ignoring the paid dining customers. There was one fish dish, some rice, and some noodles, and a whole lot of empty serving dishes. No wonton soup, no eggrolls, no shrimp, no beef, no chicken, you get the picture…Our super overworked server felt bad and was able to negotiate 10% off, but I think that in a time where labour is in shortage, we should let bad businesses die.I never expect much from a Chinese buffet, but at least I expect that there will be food. Really don’t go here.

The chow mein was dry and cold when we got it. Breaded almond chicken tastes like old grease so leaves an after taste and cold. You really need to get insulated heat bags for delivery. Normally things are ok.

Ordered on Uber Eats. Was fast but unfortunately for how much they charge, the portion sizes are tiny. I have paid less and gotten more at many places. Flavour was good, however some of our noodles were mushy (possibly because of the delivery). Taste was good but not good bang for your buck. Can get something just as good for less elsewhere. The photo is of our beef and broccoli - the only meat we could choose for our 2 person combo.

Food variety was extremely poor, quality of thr food was extremely poor and it was nearly 100 dollars for me my gf and 2 10 year old kids who shared 1 plate of food. Discussing experience. Will never go back.

If you love food the way I do, you will love the fried rice Purple Garden has to offer. Top rated fried rice has what is called Wok-hey" or "Guo-qi" which a nutty barbecue flavor of the rice is brought out from the high heat of the wok. This skill is becoming hard to find these days

Overall very impressed by Purple Garden. I ordered chowmein and spring rolls through their online ordering system and found it easy to use. Their prices were the best (cheapest) I've found in Victoria which was appreciated. The chowmein had a hearty portion sized and came how I requested (only beansprouts). The flavor of the chowmein and spring rolls were good and I gobbled my meal up. In summary, great meal and I would return again when passing through Victoria.

The food tasted okay at first, though a bit greasy, then within an hour I came down with food poisoning, I hadn't eaten anything else and it didn't affect partner who ate everything I did except I ordered the pork loin so it must have been from that.I ordered 4 entrees and they gave me one fortune cookie. Am I supposed to split that between 4 people? When you have two excited kids expecting fortune cookies it's really disappointing to just have one after spending 70$. I've never run into this before, seems extremely cheap.

Purple Garden Chinese Restaurant
I haven't gone for the buffet so I can't speak to the affordability of that, but the food quality is quite good. The combo for one price is $14.95 and I found the portions to be on the larger side.The service was exactly what I needed it to be and I enjoyed my meal here. Will definitely be back.I'm curious about the buffet due to other reviews.
