Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

Have forgotten they work for the PUBLIC. Perhaps the RCMP could do lessons on word definitions. Because they don't seem to understand serve, protect, or servant. They now act as an extension of our authoritarian government. To every single RCMP member across Canada; If you have abandoned your oath, or have failed to call out colleagues who have abandoned the oath then you are no longer in any sort of power and you deserve to be not only terminated but held accountable for your actions or lack there of!

The Richmond RCMP are supposed to protect and serve, but it's hard to do that when they're power hungry thugs. In the past year alone, I've been pulled over twice for suspicious driving". No tickets ever given

My wife needed to do finger print for her citizenship application. The website only mentioned the cost but no information whether an appointment was needed. She called ahead and was told none was needed. But the service can only be offered for Richmond residents.We went in around 9:30 in the morning and there was nobody. The man behind the counter was courteous. We showed him the paperwork and made the payment.Then she went to wash her hands and waited to be called for the process. The whole thing was done in less than 15 minutes.She was a bit worry after reading all the negative reviews. But everyone from the receptionist answering the phone calls to the clerks helping us were all very courteous.

To: Richmond RCMP!Hello guys,I am so grateful that you guys are always be trustful and nice to us, and serving and protecting us. Always good to people.However while I was in China, my lunatic ex-tenant showed up in my home and try to break in to my house by entering the window. As a result, she break the window screen. My parents and the current tenant saw and called 911. Police came and caught her right in my front yard.When I come back from China with my kids, I feel fear and worried.Today at 11:50am, I went to the Richmond police station at No. 5 road to get the file number if any in case it happens again so the police can follow up on it.But the receptionist didn’t treat me humanly. She was very vulgar with her language that I felt like I was a criminal. So now I’m afraid to come to report if anything happen to us. I thought she was there to help us, but she treated me so rude.All I wanted is to get a file number if there has one in case the person shows up in my door again. I hope you guys can talk to the receptionist about my concern and then she can treat people with respect and better approach.I’m still looking forward to your advice to get the file number without encountering this receptionist person again.Best regards,Ting XU

Absolutely terrible service! Called non emergency line at 7am and been on hold over an hour. I hope Richmond city gets rid of them and have their own city police like Surrey!

There's an extremely rude female officer working on the emergency line late at night. It's a disgrace to our country to have someone so uncaring like that taking 911 calls. I called 911 and this lady told me not to call 911 again and hung up on me before I could elaborate on the situation. I was in need of immediate help but had to wait for 20 mins on the non emergency line before I simply gave up.This was my first interaction with the police and I have to say I've lost all respect for them. What a joke of a public service. We as citizens need to hold the police more accountable than we've ever been in the past as they are in need of change.

Terrible service! I was looking for information on criminal record checks. The lady with the short curly brown hair and glasses was very condescending. The info she gave us didn’t make sense. When i asked for clarity, she wasn’t answering the questions and became rude

I filed a report with the Richmond RCMP today on a suspicious incident. In just a few hours, a Richmond RCMP officer arrived at the house to obtain more details. Right away he took action. I am so grateful for all the help he has given me today. He resolved our concern right away and we were so relieved after. It was a pleasure speaking to Officer Jason Chung (or Cheung). I just want to acknowledge and compliment him for his excellent service. Thank you for being such a genuine, professional and helpful RCMP officer. My sincere apologies if I mispelled your last name. Thank you also for your advice, support and effective communication. I just want to say Thank you so much again for all your help today Officer Jason." It is very much appreciated."

Process is incredibly slow. I lost my bag, phone, and many more items. I tried calling the police because I had the location of my stolen phone but they were too busy with others cases. I wasted an hour at the station because the police told me that they found my purse but it ended up not being mine.

The receptionist was extremely rude. She has curly brown hair and spoke with a very unpleasant condescending tone. She was very mean and having an attitude. I heard RCMP had quite a bad reputation but didn’t expect it too be this bad. I just want to write a review to anyone looking for service at this location to be prepared for this. At the end of the day, this is a public service and if you need things to be done in here, there is no other options. But just be prepare for the not so nice reception service.
