Magas Memorial Park

Small Park at the edge of Transcona. Most of the stuff is good for kids 4-8. Hard for this parent to play chase. Small track of grass to let the kids run.

Simple park with clean equipment and woodchips instead of stones. Something for all ages. Feels like a lot of thought went into designing it.

Great little park next to the East End Arena. Brand new structures with options for under 5 years old, as well as stuff for the older kids.

Nice park

My family is the name-sake for this little park. My Great Grandfather and his brothers were chosen to be honored with this park for their service and sacrifice during WWII. All four of the Magas brothers enlisted and my Great Great Uncle, Harry, gave the ultimate sacrifice on the Beaches of Normandy. This park is something special to me, because even though it may not be anything special to the children that play there and enjoy themselves on the slide or swings, it is special to those that know that the park has a deeper meaning. The park is the perfect embodiment of that warm special feeling that can only be known as pride...My family traveled up from California to visit our family in Transcona, and were able to gather together at the park. We thoroughly enjoyed what the community has done to honor our ancestors. The park has a great play structure and is conveniently located next to a hockey rink. It includes something for all ages!I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of those involved in planning, building and honoring the Magas Memorial Park. This is truly a special place for all of my family. We will come visit again!
