Melina gave me a haircut yesterday and it is PERFECT! Before I came in, I was wearing my hair pulled back in ponytails and buns because my hair had lost all shape, movement, and shine. We agreed to a cut above my split ends and she patiently added the layers that I requested, even unusually short ones. She was pleasant and upbeat the entire time she was working on my hair, too! I love it!! Thanks Melina!!

Had a great experience at this salon with a fantastic haircut and barber lineup by Guillaume. He was very polite and respectful. However, it would have been better if they washed the head before and after the cut, even for a men's haircut. Overall, I would definitely go back again.

I have been a client for at least 8 years!! I have had hair cuts by Danny (RIP) and mostly Jason. I have recommended the salon to friends and neighbours. I have never encountered a more professional business. From the appointment system, the punctuality the quality of the haircut, the amazing client experience and the supporting staff, all is great. I have seen other staff interacting with clients and it is a truly professional place where respect and high quality are outstanding. I must add that Helmet salon gives opportunities to younger hairstylists and I have seen many flourishing into very creative and professional staff like Armand.

Helmet Salon is hands-down the best. The atmosphere is vibrant. The stylists are professional and highly skilled. And the results, are amazing. I've never had so many compliments on my hair as I have since coming to Helmet.Jason, in particular, is incredible. He takes his time to understand his client's vision and to artfully adapt it to their hair. The first time he styled my fine-wavy hair, it had more movement and volume than I ever thought possible (slow-motion wind machine vibes). I'm super happy that my hair journey led me to Jason and to Helmet Salon.

Most unprofessional and vile owner experience. I left a genuine review, just to have Melanie harass me to have the review removed. I was no longer planning to associate with them but that behaviour crossed a line.Melanie D., one of the owners, was extremely rough on my hair and dismissed my concerns during the process. She also spoke ill of other stylists but denies it, of course. Instead, she hyperfocuses on the fact that I mentioned the salon was overpriced for the quality of service. Even claiming that my statements must be false since I hadn’t spoke up immediately and that I had a colour done with a stylist at her salon recently. My problem was with her, which is precisely why I went to someone else. In hindsight, I should've brought my business elsewhere but I wanted to support a stylist who works there. I’m including some pictures of the recent ‘ombre’ colour I had done at Helmet Salon, which is a different story, but one that Melanie had brought up to use as leverage for some reason. This alone cost me 450$. The stylist displayed a lot of confidence so I had no reason to be doubtful until I saw the results. I was even told “it will never look even as hair is always in movement” when I inquired about the obvious mistakes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but bfr someone who truly takes pride in their work would never let someone leave like that In the first place. Overall a lack of accountability all around.I managed to get proof of some of Melanies spam before she mass deleted everything after realizing I wasn’t buying her act-she continuously brought up her health issues and other things unrelated to my experience- and would not be removing my review for a refund. Absolute unprofessional and disgusting behaviour. From her responses to other reviews, it seems she avoids accountability constantly. She will apologize, but immediately imply that the client must be mistaken for one way or another, or claim miscommunication. I even saw her threatening to sue someone, just unbelievable. I can't imagine how many constructive reviews she forced to take down and what the true rating of this place is.Had she taken accountability and had the mental maturity to accept criticism, I wouldn’t even have addressed the recent botched colour job or harassment, which are far worse than the contents of my first review. Not only is spamming me privately extremely unprofessional, the way she ignored my multiple requests to be left alone shows a lack in basic human decency. I strongly advise going elsewhere, whether that is for the quality of service, or just respectability.*Update: including the owner’s gaslighting and harassment in my original review gave her means to flag so I removed them. If you’ve seen the receipts, you have the full picture but others will just have to go off of their own judgement. I’ve removed all ss from the review to prevent her from further censoring the situation; however, I know this will give her grounds to fabricate more lies.Its been a few weeks since this horrible experience but I’m forced to relive it every time I see my hair (aka daily). Not to mention, the owner and her friends/colleagues continued to stalk my social media weeks following my review. It’s creepy. She also makes a point to associate every other negative review with me when she clearly knows the reason my review didn't show is because she continues to remove it. And as she’s been stalking me, she knows full well that I’m not behind the reviews she claims to be me; however, she continues the act to avoid accountability and paint me as fake reviewer when, if u take a look at my account, all my reviews are genuine. Be careful of this place guys.

I have been getting my hair cut here for about seven years & know the owners & staff well. They are hardworking, consistent & talented. Mel or Jason colour my hair several times a year & Guillaume (or Will, if G is not around) gives me amazing cuts. Will also gave me an amazing cuts, great chats & friendly banter. Definitely recommend

I went to this salon a few months ago to get a haircut because I read the good reviews and I thought it seems like a decent salon where they know what they’re doing. It was 85$ which is not cheap for a haircut but because I wanted to make sure my hair looks good after, I decided to do it. Sasha cut my hair and it was a disaster. It looks like I cut it at home and didnt know what i was doing. It was uneven in the back and on on the sides, it’s just awfull how it looks. The only good thing was that I went back and they agreed to fix it a little bit ( he cut some pieces too short so that was unfixable) thats why i gave 1 star because other than that, everything sucked. They refused to reimbourse me and put the fault on my hair type. I believe it is discrimination if you only can cut short thin hair!!! I have long thick hair yes but that is no excuse to ruin my hair. The stylist could have been honest and tell me my hair cut would be beyond his skills and i would have happily get it cut by somebody else instead of having it being ruined and wait for it to grow out for years. I think it’s embarassing for the salon to put the fault on my hair instead of agreeing to this horrible mess.
