17 of us booked the karaoke bar for a works outing and honestly, the best part of it was laughing at how bad the place was. We arrived and the front window was smashed, the room was in a basement that smelled of fish and damp, the bathroom floors were wet and the toilet seats weren't attached to anything.Straight away our expectations were pretty low but we had a good night. It's great that you can bring your own beer. We agreed that although it was a bit if a dive, at least it was cheap. That was until the owner then tried to charge us more than the agreed price and claimed there were more of us than there were.Although we ended up having fun (and laughing a lot) I probably wouldn't go back.Reply: it takes a lot of organising to get a big group together. We called in advance and asked about the price for 3 hours and everyone paid the organiser in advance. To leave early would mean ending the night early which wasn't an option. The place could be great if you listen to the feedback to improve the service. Refurbishment and better customer service will result in better reviews.

We had fun!! Good sized room with good equipment for group of 14. We all really enjoyed ourselves! Mike was friendly and helpful. But, just saying... it does look closed from the outside, there isn’t a restaurant that I could see - defo no sign of the food that’s featured on the website nor a bar, you walk through an empty restaurant to get to your room. But if you don’t care about all of that and just want to have fun with your group then go for it!

Myself and 2 friends booked a karaoke booth in Nov 2017, which was cancelled without a reason via text message. After calling them, we were told we could still come as the karaoke machine was then fixed. On arrival the restaurant was shut and locked. A waiter greeted us at the front door, and explained they were shut for refurbishment, which was the initial reason he cancelled our booking. The waiter then locked the shops front door, stating he was the only one in, so had to lock us in with him. After walking downstairs to what looked like a medieval dungeon, we were shown a dark room, with no other customers about. At this point we decided to leave, to which the waiter became abrupt, stating we should at least stay for one song. After insisting we were not staying, he unlocked the doors so we could leave. After some research, the restaurant had scored 0/5 on the FSA hygiene rating, and was previously known as Sesame, then changed names to Miso, then changed to Shochu Karaoke. I would recommend to steer clear of this restaurant/karaoke bar.

This place is really, really awful. The whole place smelled very strongly of fish, the karaoke machine barely worked (a man had to fix it with some wire cutters when we arrived), the song choice was really limited, the toilets were like a scene from Saw and the staff argued with us regarding a previously agreed price when we tried to pay. Such a shame that there isn’t a proper karaoke venue in Cambridge.EDIT: In response to the reply below, I would like to point out several things:1) This establishment has suddenly received numerous 5 star reviews within hours of the poor reviews from me and the other people in the party, despite not having had a review for months previously. Seems highly dubious.2) The photos of the karaoke booths attached to this Google listing are not actually photos of this establishment - the nice purple booth appears to be a place in Toronto, Canada and the yellow booth seems to be a place in Melbourne, Australia. A simple reverse Google image search confirms this and I'm willing to bet that the photos of the happy singing people and the food are likely from elsewhere too.3) Despite how the reply below would choose to paint my review (which is, I accept, a bit flippant), the idea that almost £200 is an appropriate price for three hours in a dirty basement (even the *ceiling* of the booth was dirty!) is preposterous.I'd recommend steering clear of this dishonest business.

I had to use the torch on my phone on two occasions whilst at this establishment. The first time was to assist the manager with hot-wiring the ancient karaoke machine. The second time was due to the very cold and poorly lit bathroom... but I won't go into more details about that.I personally enjoyed the smell of fish. But, I understand this is not to everyone's taste.

Great karaoke bar in a quirky venue (basement of a restaurant). Host is very accommodating and friendly, bringing snacks during your stay and teaching you how to use the system. Its BYOB with no corkage fee so fantastic value for money. Has two microphones so you don't have to worry about singing on your own. Song choice is good. Lots of well known tunes to choose from. The price depends upon how many of you there are and how long you stay, so agree this on the phone ahead of time if you need to know an exact price in advance. We paid about £8 per person for 2 hours for a group of about 15 (absolute bargain).Advice to the owner:State that it is cash only on the website.

Wonderful place to book karaoke, really great hospitality service, to be honest I kinda was not expecting much, at first they booked us double so, we had to wait a little extra, but honestly, the karaoke was really what me and my buddies were looking for, I especially liked that we could bring our boos and wines, all bit in plastic cups, but it got the job done, but what was awesome was the fact that searching for songs, the waiter actually help us get songs, I thought was amazing, there was a few artist song I was struck on, and the host helped us quite a bit, so I really did appreciate his help. Overall this place has some bits & Bob's, but the karaoke & booths lives up to expectation

We had an awesome experience at this Karaoke place for a friends birthday party. The host was really friendly and helpful offering assistance when needed. He explained how to use the Karaoke machine and gave us some time to get started. The machine had a large selection of songs and two microphones which was a great benefit. The room was comfortable with tables to have drinks and enough space for singing as well as dancing.Overall we had a great time and I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun karaoke night.

The facilities are poor and song selection very limited. I believe the owner has said there are 20,000 in a previous response but this is absurd, there are about 500 songs. The rooms aren't sound proofed and it has a ramshackle atmosphere to it. The guy running it seemed really nice to start with but we'd never seen somebody turn so quickly when it was time to pay and we didn't have cash. Nowhere did it say cash only and although he helpfully told us several times (on the phone and when we arrived) that we could buy drinks from the Tesco next door, he didn't once say it was cash only. Anyway, after he complained for christ's sake
