I must say that I really enjoyed food here. Every dish I ordered on this night was incredibly. No wonder why this restaurant has so many good reviews. If you haven’t tried food here then I highly recommend trying it. Once you try them, you will want to come back. The chef really put a lot of thoughts in the ingredients and I’m amazed how he was able to balance all these ingredients into a wonderland taste in my mouth.I loved it

Food was mediocre. We first started off with a calamari. This came out very quickly in like 5 mins from ordering. Probably made from an earlier batch. But it wasn't as crispy or fresh. Granted yes things come in fresh frozen. But seemed like it was purchased pre made already.Got the miso black cod as main for like $37/38. While the flavour was there as a miso dish, the cod itself was over cooked and caught a couple fish spine as i was chewing it (not good). The rice was probably 1/4 cup that they gave. Very small portion for rice/salad.. especially at $37 price point.Came here with other people to try out restaurants in the area. While company was great and caught up, we disregarded the food.Inside is nice , cozy, very homey and the servers were really nice and offered suggestions on what to get.Night wasn't as busy, but still called in for a reservation as the place has a few 4 seater tables (about 5) and a couple of 2seater high tops.

For my March Foodie Adventure I booked a reservation at “Namu”, in Dundas. I got an early time slot and arrived a bit early to make sure I found parking. I am glad I did as there is only street/meter parking available, and spots were busy. Meter parking is free on weekends. The restaurant is small, without being crowded, with a cozy sun room style entrance. We were greeted immediately and seated in the middle of the table area. In hindsight, while the spot offered opportunity to easily flag down staff, it was high traffic back and forth. Despite becoming very busy after our arrival, we could still have a conversation at normal volumes. The menu offers a vibrant mix of Korean dishes with vegan options noted. The restaurant was prompt in replying to my email ahead of the reservation regarding food allergies. They are very accommodating.Within moments of being seated, David, our exceptional waiter for the evening, arrived and we started with the Anju (appetizers) of Namu Burger Spring Roll. This lovely app has wagyu beef, bacon, gherkin, cheese, lettuce, onion and tiny french fries. A sweet spicy dip sauce was on the side. The wagyu was definitely the star, with a morish flavor accented by the rest of the roll. It was just enough to take the edge off being hungry, but not so much to ruin your anticipation for the main. It was recommended that I try the Soju (an alcoholic rice beverage) with the Anju -AND- with my main. Again, a perfect recommendation! For the Yori (Mains) I ordered the Hot Cheese Bul-Dak. David was quick to warn me that it was spicy, ‘Korean Fire Chicken’ HOT! He suggested a side order of plain sticky rice (excellent suggestion). The Bul-Dak has Korean fire chicken, rice cake, broccoli, sweet potato, cabbage, corn, and cheese. The portion was perfect with large chunks of chicken, crunchy broccoli and sweet potatoes cooked well. The rice cakes are a new thing for me and I was not disappointed. Soft, chewy, they offered a nice relief from the spiciness of the dish. The sauce was rich, coating everything yet still allowing you to know what each component was. I had to take a few breaks during this main, as the heat caught up with me. The plain rice was helpful during these breaks. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried a sip of the Soju right after a bite of the chicken. The drink cooled the palate, and was like a smooth reset that accented the flavors over the heat. Hands down, an amazing dish! For dessert, a basque cheese cake (Spanish style). The texture was creamy with a hint of ricotta like denseness without being overly sweet. It was not overcooked. It was a perfect way to end such a heated dinner as it cooled off the mouth and throat. Again, another great dish. Sharing this was a good idea as it is rich enough to only need half of what you think you can eat.Our waiter David was exceptional. He would appear regularly to make sure we were ok (this is my first time at a Korean restaurant, and I have food allergies). He was friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout the meal. His suggestions and explanations were delivered with clarity and a humorous energy that had us laughing most of the time. The price seemed on point for the quality and quantity received. I will 110% go back to Namu – SOON. I give them 5 out of 5 stars!

The menu was interesting. I found the service to be okay. I came in alone to meet a friend and asked for a table for two. The woman wanted to put us at a high top which I would prefer not to sit at. I said can we sit there by the window and she said all those tables were reserved. They open at 5pm and I arrived at that time and there were only four people in the place so I thought it odd that we couldn’t get one of the front tables overlooking the sidewalk. She gave me a table for four and that was fine. It did fill up quickly but there were quite a few empty tables still. It seems busy for take out orders. It was very loud as there’s no sound barriers to lower the sound volume. My friend arrived at 5:20 and I was sitting for 15 minutes with a bottle of water before the woman asked if I would like to order a drink. My friend ordered a drink and it never came and I had to wave over another server to bring it. That server brought us our food and said enjoy but we were still missing a dish we ordered. She brought it shortly thereafter. I found the service to be different depending on your language you spoke. We ordered four dishes to share. The lobster dumplings were really good as was the k.f.c. Korean friend chicken. It reminded me of general Tao chicken. It was an experience but I don’t think I would return due to the lack of attentive service we received as non-asians.

An incredibly cozy little restaurant/bar serving Korean fusion cuisine. The mood is very intimate yet lively and the owners/employees are warm and welcoming people who will go out of their way to treat you in a most stellar fashion. We enjoyed a sushi taco appetizer which exuded a satisfying duality of having a lightly crunchy yet creamy texture. The miso black-cod was prepared extremely delicately while being seasoned to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were cooked to a beautiful, lightly charred texture. The chicken katsu curry, despite being made from breast, was almost inexplicably juicy to the point of making me wonder if it was actually thigh meat.A true treasure of its neighbourhood, perfectly tucked away at the edge of town for it would be inaccesibly busy/popular if it were downtown.- 서진원

The food here speaks for itself. Best Asian food in all of Hamilton! The entire app menu is a must try.

Intimate spot for high quality asian and fusion dishes crafted with care. Food is on the pricer end, but service is top notch. Would recommend the Korean fried chicken app, the chicken was juicy and had the perfect thin coating of a sugared and tangy glaze with a slight kick. The short rib gnocchi was delicious and very rich. It had huge chunks of tender melt-in-your-mouth beef, and the gnocchi was pillowy. The breadcrumb topping also gave it a nice crunchy element. The sushi roll was good, but was honestly just a sushi roll that I could have gotten at any Japanese restaurant for a lot cheaper. The pork belly bao was also decent with a extra thick slab of meat, but I felt it could have used some more sauce or something to cut the richness of the pork belly.

Place has a nice quaint vibe. Cleanliness really needs improvement. Main dishes are extremely small and really should be on the apps menu. Apps are also small and they use a lot of cheap fillers to make the plate more substantial. Also don’t appreciate when the server stands over my shoulder while I’m paying the bill to look at the tip being left. Glad I tried it. Won’t go back.
