Dr. Ahmed Quateen

Dr. Quateen saw me in May and ordered MRI. I had that done in June and in October 22 I got a call saying I need surgery in a week. I went to hospital on Oct 19/22 and was there an hour doing my check in and then word hit the floor about all surgeries being cancelled. He had hoped to do it the following weekend but here I lay still waiting. I don’t blame Dr. Quateen, I do blame Doug Ford. As I need a hospital bed for a week after surgery to recover in hospital and i keep hearing over and over no beds available. I’m at the end stages with my condition and I pray he can operate before it is too late and I’m paralyzed. Thus far I really appreciate and trust Dr. Quateen and look forward to a successful surgery.

I’ve been trying for weeks to get ahold of someone for my follow up appointment after my MRI and it’s impossible!! The results have been there since three days after doing it and I’ve been in pain.Not sure why it’s so difficult to return phone calls/messages!

Dr. Quateen did my surgery Feb 27th. I had severe spinal stenosis so he did compression and fusion on my L4 and L5. He did an amazing job. When I went for my follow up appointment he was very concerned with my osteoporosis. He said it was really severe so he had me talk to one of the nurses about it right there and then he contacted an internist. I see this (doctor) internist and he said Dr. Quateen wanted him to talk to me about osteoporosis and tell me what can be done. Because Dr. Quateen pushed, within 2 weeks I had my bone density done and my nuclear scan plus my blood work. It was all completed so quickly! I had my first shot of evenity and get a shot once a month for a year. This all happened so quickly because of Dr. Quateen!! Great doctor!

At my first visit, Dr. Quateen was nice and explained things. He ordered further imagining and told me to book a follow up. His office however is one of the most frustrating things I've ever dealt with. I cannot get a hold of them on the phone at any point in time. It took weeks of me calling to finally speak with someone about a follow up appointment. We scheduled a phone follow up, and the day came and went with no call. I waited a few days thinking maybe he was just backed up. Now I have to try to get ahold of them again to figure out what happened, and I'm back to calling constantly and getting nowhere. I'll update my review as things progress.Edit: Some months after my first visit, it has been easier to get in touch with his office. I find that my appointments are not normally on time, but I've found Dr. Quateen to be a great doctor in my few visits with him. He's listened and explained well, never seems like he's in a hurry to get on to his next patient. Nothing but good things to say about his in person manners.

Great surgeon, I had my surgery scheduled for November 1st 2021, but my daughter had died on October 18th so the surgeon was very compassionate but he suggested that I wait for a couple weeks and then I would be able to have my surgery done all I was told to do was call his office and make an appointment with him I said that’s fine I’ll do that. He promised me that he would take me right away and that I just needed time to look after my daughters arrangements and make sure my blood pressure was good. I have been trying to get into see the surgeon since the end of November. I have emailed his office my family doctor has faxed them several times and many calls. It’s impossible to get an answer from the office. I believe it’s not the surgeon but the office staff hasn’t been doing anything to get me into see the doctor. It’s March and I’m still waiting for an appointment. Enough is enough how do you get through to them? !!!!

Great surgeon. Procedure went perfectly and I recovered exactly as he said I would. The office provide all my paperwork for insurance and physio. The pain is gone and I'm walking again. Thanks Dr. Quateen!
