OAK HILLS ALPACAS

Four years ago we had the dream of having alpacas. Then we met Heather, Mike and Ruby of Oak Hills Alpacas and the dream started to become reality. With their knowledge and enthusiasm, they helped us plan our farm. They provided advice on fencing, pasture, barn and health supplies, and which alpacas would be better suited to our vision. Once our farm was ready, they provided us with healthy and beautiful alpacas and we are now the happy owners of an all male fiber herd.

As a photographer I was living a complete creative dream getting to work with oh alpacas! Not only did the alpacas add so much character into the story I was documenting but the ease in which they were handled and navigated around the property made this such a pleasant and charming experience for everyone involved.This family owned business is truly one of my favourites, offering an experience that will not let anyone down. I met Heather and her husband some years ago. They invited us to come their farm, meet their alpacas and get a sense of what is involved in raising, breeding and taking care of these beautiful, gentle animals. We were smitten. Heather is so knowledgeable on the subject and there was no question when asked that she didn't answer in great detail. When we decided to take the leap and purchase a small small herd there was no question that we wanted Heather to guide us through it.
