Jane (PupStart) loves dogs and loves to share her knowledge of dogs with others. Jane helps to set up an environment, in your home, to have a successful relationship with your dog. Jane helps to simplify the basics of learning how to live with a puppy. When she taught us to Use this decision tree when trying to change a behavior1 is this a health issue that calls for a visit to our veterinarian2 can I manage the problem by changing the environment3 decide what I want my puppy to do and reward her when she does it. It was helpful with a new problem with clipping my dog’s nails. My puppy had been learning to let me clip her nails and then suddenly became freaked out when I would try. Jane assessed the situation and suggested we contact our vet because it seems that the paws were sensitive, possibly due to allergies. Jane was correct. Jane taught me and my kids how to clearly communicative with our puppy. She loves to teach kids too. Learning how to understand how a dog thinks makes it easier to clearly communicate with my puppy. When Jane explained what I can expect of my puppy (how to stop barking, how to stay, how to do tricks) and created a plan for us to deal with typical puppy issues, it feels empowering and decreases the frustration that can come with having a puppy. Jane’s follow up after a session is generous and thorough. She is happy to answer an email about new issues. We are having fun with our puppy and we are thankful to have Jane on our team for any future puppy issues. THANK YOU JANE.

When we decided to get a new pup we thought it would be helpful to start of as positively as possible and asked Jane (PupStart) to visit our home before the arrival of the puppy. She spent an hour with us going over what our expectations were of the pup, our experience in dog rearing and only then did she offer advice, suggestions and support.After our pup had been with us a week she came back to meet the pup, reviewed our progress and showed us various training tips and techniques.
