Speaking with a representative is complicated. The phone wait times often lead to nothing. Email responses are scarce and incomplete. No followup is given. I only receive statements of account, but never an invoice so it's hard to understand what I am paying.

Very high perimum fee and rediculous strategy for coverage.Here's one for physiotherapy:If your age is between 20 and 64 you're not eligible for physiotherapy reimbursement if you didn't have a life thretening surgery!!"This is UHIP and it doesn't cover people with age 20 to 64?!?!Isn't that a joke?"

Before hand Cowan was great and efficient and no issues. Now it takes forever for the to get refunds back and constantly have to call back to see whats going on. Service has just gone downhill lately

I have been waiting for a claim for over a month now. I sent in an estimate and they said it would be covered in full. They are giving me a reduced amount contrary to what their estimate said....and its been almost two months and still only got half of my claim reimbursed. If I could give 0 stars I would. Also they are running a prehistoric program. Can't see claims until they are processed and I get an email that says I might get paid in 48 hrs. I have to wait and see and then I can reach out if there is a problem. Backwards system and I am really not happy.

Very very bad experience.Having my UHIP here and required very unnecessary files to claim my family doctor visit. I already send everything to them but the lady who pickup the phone are very rude to me. They just don’t want to approve any claims and provide bad service

My insurance is Cigna but because I’m living in Canada - Ottawa so Cowan is handling it, wish they didn’t, I requested for extra refill as I’m traveling, raised the request 3 weeks before but they kept giving me different answer every time keep lying until I ended up traveling without getting all of my medications .. the guy who caused this bad experience his name is Ben .. apparently they can get every single information about me but they can’t share their last name for privacy purposes

Probably the worst group benefit insurance provider out there - complete incompetence, constantly changing rules on the fly, requesting claim justifications for spouse when nothing was requested for my spouse, they try and do literally everything (coherent or not) to take longer in processing a claim - STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Always great service we did business with Jennifer Williams for years and I belive she got promoted to a different position then we got great service after that with Leah and Diane. Always satisfied and we'vveha d to take our workers to the hospital before and the coverage was perfect.
