Joyful Journeys RV Campark Resort

I had to return to this Fabulous camp ground this summer 2018. The service is amazing Katanya (owner) and Robert (grounds keeper, handy man here) make everyone feel at home. Bathrooms and showers clean and fresh. The view to the water with the moon over the water at night INCREDIBLE. I can take my kayak right down to the water of St. Ann's Bay close to my camp site. Fabulous. A TRUE Cape Breton Treasure. Great place for motorcycle people to drop in for the night with sweet little cabins. Thanks for the Great stay.

We stayed at Joyful Journey's RV park and campground from July 31 - Aug 4.. We were car camping and looking for a quiet campground, with clean bathrooms, and level site preferably in the trees.Location wise it is a bit off the beaten track if you were planning to use as a base to tour east towards Sydney, Baddeck, Louisbiurg etc, however very convenient for access to Cabot trail.There are very few gas stations in the area so be mindful to keep tank topped up.It was very quiet at night during our stay, with occasional wind blowing through tree canopy and waves washing over the rock beach with the ebb and flow of the tide.The main office area is primarily for checkin with small inventory of supplies for purchase including firewood and ice also available. Bathrooms facilities at ground level below the office.. Even though facade is somewhat worn and unappealing, Men's side featured 2 toilets, two sinks and coin operated shower (.50 cents ) and seemed to be cleaned regularly.More oriented around seasonal rv parking -. Likely camping aspect secondary with only a few non-serviced sites and on demand rv parking spots when not taken.. Non serviced sites tend to be along the shore amongst full canopy trees and beautiful seaside view of the Jersey Cove it's smooth well worn pebble beach and views of outlying islands.An added bonuses to the location and seaside sites are the amazing sunrise,(although you do have to get up before 5:30 am to take advantage of any photo-op), the variety of seabirds coming and going and the opportunity to see other sea wildlife like seals swimming into the cove.Each site is outfit with a picnic table and man made fire pit (ingeniously made from washer drum welded to well rim from a car). Sites are spacious with grass land base - enough that one has many options for flat tent placement.. Only the odd mosquito during daylight, horseflies and black fly although present their activity may have been hampered by the gentle breeze.We would recommend Joyful Journeys as a good place to land If you are looking for a quiet rustic place with clean facilities, hot water, a view to an awesome sunrise where you can pitch a tent for a few nights or longer and enjoy the soothing rhythms of winds in the trees and waves on the rocks.

I'm from Florida where we have so many RV parks, I never thought one could ever excite me again. what an amazing time for singles, couples and whole families too. I can't wait to come see you Katannya. what a lovely place you have.

One of the most quite places and beautiful parks I ever stayed at. The people welcome you with open arms. Visit it every two weeks cause my brother has a trailer their. Loven it there.

Office personnel was very friendly and we were able to pick our spot. There is absolutely no cell service or internet here. You have to walk down to the water to get any kind of service. Bathrooms not that clean. The office/store didn’t offer much to purchase and it was extremely cluttered. Do not plan on using the ferry if you have a large RV.

Nice place, get there early to get an ocean view. Staffing issues didn't allow for the washrooms/showers to be open, but we suffered for the view and the nice caretakers and locals!

No one was available to register us. By phone we were told that we could park our RV on any open site. We found a beautiful spot right on the ocean. We used the laundry, but ran out of loonies to finish drying. In the morning we packed up and left around 9. If you come here, get a spot by the ocean--very nice!

This campground was great.Appears to be more geared towards a 55plus demographicThe owner Katannya was very nice as were all the campers we met.Will definitely be returning.

We came here as Cape Brenton Nat'l. Park evacuated us due to Hurricane Dorian. We stayed 2 nights - mostly seasonal guests here. Staff very nice but the place is run down and not very well cared for. It's for sale too! Amazing ocean view.

Good location for visiting the Cabot trail. It's about as close as you'd want to be to the trail and not haul your trailer through the trail with a few other exceptions close by. It's right on the water with a stone beach that you can enjoy. It's more of a permanent resident campground but does the trick for a few nights. Also the ferry is not running at the time of this post. It allows access to Sydney and Emglishtown so call ahead if you have planned to visit those locations.
