Nice spot for some social bites and drinks. The food was great and the service was excellent. I was quite surprised how reasonable the bill turned out considering how much we ate and drank. Worth checking out.

Our local friends told us this place is sister restaurant to Guu with Garlic and that they actually like this place better. So we tried it out, and my goodness, it was so worth it. Granted, you have to order a bunch of dishes because they’re kind of small, but that’s izakaya for you. We loved everything, esp the sukiyaki and salmon ikura bowl. Spent about $127 pre tax for 9 dishes and sake which is very decent.

Love visiting here whenever I'm in the mood for some Japanese food downtown. It used to be a Guu, but has now changed its name.I love the food, the atmosphere and the staff are attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommended the Brussels sprouts and the karaage both the chicken and cauliflower styles. For the special when I was there they were offering black cod collar which was delicious. Me and my dining partner throughly enjoyed each dish. I will return.

This restaurant is a hidden gem!It took us a while to find the entry. They have a sign on ground floor says it’s opened, however, there’s no sign on second floor, so we kind of feel lost and don’t know where it is.Once we went up to third floor, we found the restaurant and everything is so amazing! They have a really Japanese style interior decoration which is cute and aesthetic. We ordered 3 combos and every food is tasty! Really recommend the royal bento, it’s $30 but you got to try so many dishes! Will definitely recommend to others and come back!

Food was alright but the service and presentation is spectacular. The aura of this place is pretty great too. It’s tucked away above Honolulu coffee. Was a good experience eating here.

Good lunch menu! Bento boxes, hamberg set, and curry. Their foods were more like home style cooking. That is said, they were all pretty good.Their dinner menu is more like izakaya style. It will be good for summer with patio seating.NOTE: their toto toilets are Japanese style with heated seats and bidets!! So good to see them in Vancouver!

Delicious dishes and great service. I love the variety of veggies dishes and flexible combos of sashimi and oden choices. The decorations and bathrooms are also well thought. Overall pretty good experience.

I visited the restaurant on a Thursday night. The place wasn't too crowded and we got a seat by the bar immediately. This was my second time visiting and they rebrand the restaurant from Guu to the current one. The ambience is still nice like previously. You order from your phone and they bring it to your table. Not a huge fan of needing to pay and tip before eating tho.The food itself was unique and flavorful. You can't find some of their dishes from other sushi store/Izakaya. We ordered pork neck, fish collar bone, roasted cauliflower, karage and mackerel pressed sushi. The pork neck and beer tonge were amazing. The karage had crunchy skin and the inside was tender and juicy.Definitely recommend checking this place out.

It is conviently located, very central and spacious. Went for lunch on a weekday. The food was really tasty, the quantity of the fish meal was small. It was only a little disappointing that they have limited quantities of the bento boxes.

A neat little eatery on a roof with a wide selection of izakaya treats. You can order and pay on your phone at your seat, some dishes even come with a discount if you do. All the dishes are reasonably priced and even on the cheaper end. I really loved the blend of flavors in the cool eggplant and the black cod was so fatty and tender and generously portioned! I also really enjoyed my melon drink and ice cream, very creamy and refreshing. Service was nice and very fast, we could've been in and out in 45 minutes with how fast the kitchen was, although we ate a bit earlier during dinner when it wasn't as busy, the speed was still rather impressive.
