Yang Guo Fu Spicy Soup

I ordered two spicy soups with two different spice levels (very spicy and medium spicy), but they switched it up and i was forced to eat the spicy one when I ordered medium spicy. I wasn't given any drinks, and now my throat is swollen and it has been burning the whole day. The pain is too much, and the staff are unfriendly. I will never revisit. I would like to give it 0 stars but I cannot. Horrible experience.

Good soup, not too spicy. When you walk in it's not clear there are veggies on the left in the other fridge. Doesn't make it the easiest to access but now I know for next time. Dine in and takeout. Cash or debit only

Last time when I visited here, I felt uncomfortable because of an unkind staff.However, today, a staff named Collin was super kind. Thank you!Food was delicious, too.

I love it. So yummy! Same as I had in China. A little spicy with kind of milk smell, so so so nice. When I was in China, I had YGF at least three times a week. I am so happy I find it in Canada.

This bowl costs $40 and I didn’t get any meat other than that piece of spam. I used to think this place was not bad when it first opened, but now compared to its competitors, the food variety and quality are worse than the other malatang restaurants, the broth is very bland too, and you can’t choose the spice level. Zhangliang malatang just down the block is much better and cheaper.

The soup tastes really well, but the ingredients are not fresh at all.

麻辣烫 Ma La Tang is a common type of Chinese Street food. It originated in Sichuan provinces. In the mid-2010s Ma La Tang became more popular in Northern China, especially in my Hometown, Harbin. It was one of my most popular dishes in my hometown, HarBin. When I was at High School and University, I always went and ate during my lunch and dinner time. It was super cheap at that time, the prices were like 5 RMB. You could get super full. We came to the restaurant, then we ordered vegetable and meat. After that, we told cook what kind of flavors we want to eat. After 5 ~ 10 mins, our food was in front of us.Today, Ma La Tang has been changed a bit from before. In these shops, the ingredients (meat and vegetable) are displayed on shelves. Customers can pick their desired ingredients into a bowl. Then, the shop will charge them based on the weight of the bowl. People can select their own seasoned sauce ingredients behind of the counter. Before serving, people can put those seasoned sauces, such as garlic, black pepper, Sichuan pepper, chili pepper, sesame paste and crushed peanuts, on their Ma La Tang, which make their food favorable.I was very excited to have Ma La Tang in Vancouver Canada. The prices of the food were a little bit of expensive. The taste was similar to many other Ma La Tang shops in China. But, it was very watery. I am a bit of disappointing compared to China. I glad that I could have my favorite dish, MaLaTang, in Canada.

The soup is ok but price is not attractive. Service was not good. Source containers were all empty but no refilled.

I was surprised how simply good this place was. You just grab a set of tongs and pick what items you want. They weigh your bowl at the end as you pay by weight, then you grab a seat as they turn your selection into a soup. The soup broth was very tasty and everything was cooked well in it. Great place for a cold weather type of day.
