You can’t charge people to get a haircut by someone who’s a ‘student’ and is actually PAYING YOU a tuition to learn how to cut hair. So you’re getting money from the person cutting the hair AND the person who’s getting their hair cut. That’s so unethical it’s not even funny. ESPECIALLY when you’re charging $20-$40. Getting work done by student dentists at UBC is free. There’s a reason for that…..when you allow a student to practice on you, you’re taking a huge risk. It’s the same with hair. A haircut from a student barber should be free or like $10 max….AND YOU SHOULD ASK PEOPLE IF IT’S OKAY THAT A STUDENT BARBER CUTS YOUR HAIR

This was truly disappointing. Finding places in Vancouver that provide Black hair care and have experience cutting Black hair is hard, and this place was meant to be an oasis, but it's a mirage.A school dressed up as a business.If it's a school, there needs to be oversight, a teacher present, to ensure that we guinea pigs aren't butchered. If it's a school, people need to graduate with some useful skillset before they are unleashed on the public.But.If it's a business, these people need to be able to do the job.If it's a business, this needs to be worth the money.Today, the person cutting should not have been allowed to represent you and I paid the price.And as a place that touts their celebrity cred, your place just messed up my haircut (which was honed by Vancouver's best on-set Black barber) and is sending me to camera looking like I did it myself in the dark. I'm embarrassed that I was fooled by how this place presents itself, and deeply disappointed by the experience and the outcome.

Just got a haircut this evening and I was looking to get a fade but I wasn’t familiar with the barbershops in town. Luckily found this location, Junior got the best service in town! I love the look he gave me. He’s friendly, pays attention to details, he’s an amazing barber. Friendly staffs as well. Thanks Jr

I know Junior Barber Shop for about 9years. I take my son since he was about 4YO and now he is 12/5. And soon he will be going there on his own. Through those years we got to know different barbers. All of them had their own magic and made my son happy to go back. Junior is a friendly man himself and his shop despite being mostly for adults, is very kids friendly. I remember once we walked in there with my son and they were playing some rap music, (not very kids friendly), Junior turned it off and played a Super hero movie so my son could enjoy watching. Thank you Junior for making us feel like friend and family.

This is a great barber shop!Only thing is we'd really love to have Junior do the cut next time but he's not in there very much. I'm sure he wouldn't hire anyone unless they were great barbers as well though.

I graduated from the September 12 class recently and this was my experience:I started school having cut some of my friends hair for 2 years (I'm 18) and only had experience cutting black hair.During the course I learned how to hold and use a straight razor, how to section and trim hair with shears. I am now extremely comfortable cutting straight hair, and even more experienced with cutting black hair.The layout of the course is great for learning but also won't be too time consuming in your normal week.Junior and Manny were a great help throughout the course as well as the other classmates. I really appreciate this class and the experience it gave me!

Junior’s is THE best hair cutter in Vancouver. I’ve been bringing my young son for a perfect fade and clean up … he’s super with my son, patient, and unbelievable skilled with the trimmer. Great employees and a cool vibe. I can’t recommend Junior’s enough. Thanks Jr!
