Woodside Ferry Terminal

Nice terminal with public seating upstairs. Has free wifi.

Undergoing renovations and under construction right now, which is probably the best time, since passenger levels are almost non-existent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the ferries is called Viola Desmond, which was really wonderful to see. Well kept, and efficient, plus gives you the best views of both Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts while on your journey.

Very convenient and fast way to get from Woodside to Halifax downtown

Never had a problem with the Halifax Ferry ever in my 18 years of life living in this city. Heres a pretty picture of it that i took a little while back.

It has been nearing three years since they had 'renovated' this place.So far we have: leaking pipes, broken or I'll fitted doors, and four sets of escalators that have never worked, limiting foot traffic to a narrow set of stairs.The staff is extremely unpleasant. I have had one yell at me because I wanted to pass the gate and take a seat, but because he wasn't sitting behind his desk, and despite me having a pass that I was holding up, he treated me like I was about to commit a crime.I'm all for public transit, but given that the woodside ferry doesn't even function on weekends and stops running at 9pm every night, I think our transit infrastructure needs a serious revaluation and a discussion in where our costs are going. Because it sure isn't going to this terminals upkeep or staff. Especially now.

Very modern terminal with individual unisex bathroom stalls, good for anyone no need to wait in line for the ladies restroom.

Very easy to get down to ferry, lovely light and airy way to get down to ferry as it is down a steep hill, but there are 2 sets of escalators,up and down and a elevator

The Woodside Ferry Terminal has been getting a makeover with lots of well needed renovations. One beautiful feature from before the renos is the stunning window that showcases Georges Island and the amazing Cruise Ships docked on the Halifax Harbour side.

This a quiet ferry terminal compared with the others in Halifax region. It's convenient that the nearby Dartmouth residence can park their car here and take the ferry to the Downtown Halifax if they wish to save parking fee. There are several bus routes and a short trail which lead to the exciting NSCC Ivany Campus here. You will gradually love the place if you are a person who enjoy the calm and quiet environment.

It seems like a mile walk from door to gate, because it's one-third of a mile. Elevator there if you need it. Usually very clean. The big unexpected benefit is the magnificent view of Halifax Harbour going down the stairs, and in the waiting area. Pretty fast going from Dartmouth to Halifax, but keep in mind the last ferry leaves around 8:47 p.m. Mon-Fri (no weekend service). Keep an eye on the schedule. It is relaxing taking the ferry home after a long day, try to go on the upper deck if it's not too cold.
