Run into the ground, leaky pool, not maintained well at all and the town has let it fall apart. Availability is weak and staff barely do thier jobs.

Terrible final experience at the Recreation Center. I went with my family and used the family change room. After we had a blast, I returned to my locker to find the money in my wallet was stolen...very sad and a good display of why Port Hardy has the reputation it has. If you are visiting the north island be sure to visit Port McNeill and the other small towns dotted around the north island. You won't miss anything if you skip Port Hardy.
