Power of Words Academy

Really well thought out program. Takes the kids step by step to actually develop writing and speaking skills. My kids have been doing it for 3 years and you can see the development!

I kept hearing great things about Power of Words from so many other parents in my neighbourhood so enrolling my son was an easy decision. We just started the summer enrichment program and it's been such a worthwhile experience already - my son is actively engaged in the virtual classes, he's picking up new concepts quickly, and the teacher is amazing - her lessons are well-planned, she provides timely & relevant feedback, and cares about the success of her students. Highly recommend for parents who are looking to fill in learning gaps and give their kids a boost when it comes to language comprehension, writing and speaking skills.

I am not big fan of writing reviews however had really bad experience of dealing with this academy last wk. My son Deven (7 years old) along with my daughter used to go Mississauga location for last 4-5 months. He participated in speech competition organized by them and was one of only 2-3 children who completed his speech without any cards. He got immediate appreciation in the waiting area from 2-3 parents that he was best in his age category. However management 'Hafsa' had some preconceived decisions without checking performance on that day that he is not eligible for any award. When we asked her, she was so rude and passing the bucks to Judges without giving any reasons. He remembered the whole speech of around 3 minutes at age of 7 and confidently completed the whole speech in front of all the people. I understand other kids also did well but he was for sure one of top 3 and there is no doubt in mind about that.We didn't see any great change in our kids grammer or other skills after joining this academy. They don't grade any homework and I felt teachers are also overwhelmed with number of students and just passing the time there. They have copied the format from some other programs in other subjects and haven't given any much of thought to it.However this incident just pushed me over the fence and decided to discontinue this program for my kids.I wish Google had some option of rating less than one as they deserve that. I hope power of my words, can guide other parents who are looking for their children education programs and can take decision based on this input.I don't want to put my child's speech video in public platform however I have that can show to anyone if they want to see how this academy judges children performance unfairly.

There is no doubt that Power of Words has helped my daughter through her academics during the pandemic. Even before 2020, the caliber of the program has made a great impact. Because of the attention of the faculty, and the opportunity to practice and learn at the Academy, my daughter became a more accomplished and confident public speaker and writer. You're all doing an amazing job. Thank you!!

If I could give it 6 stars I would! We registered our kids in many after school programs and this is by far the most effective, engaging and transformational program they have participated in. Our kids absolutely love Power of Words and look forward to each class. Their confidence in public speaking and communicating in general has gone up exponentially.

I was so excited when I found this class and my mom let me know that we were allowed to join middle of the term! I have grown from not being able to form a paragraph to now being able to write a decent essay. I can’t believe I can do that. I really appreciate the guidance that Ms Rebecca had provided. My confidence has sky rocketed and my teacher asked me what had changed over the past few weeks- I mentioned your program and now all the kids from my school want to join too!We are doing the public speaking part now and that’s a lot of fun! It’s a little less intense than the writing part! I am already signed up for next year too!

I happen to see my nephew's preparation for speech. I saw his video and then your reply to Amit.What a hypocrite you are!!! oh my God!! You write and I quote, “Our well-qualified independent judges, including senior leadership from our local schools, industry and public sector, all have deep experience working with students. Their careers focus on writing composition, speech writing, media and communications. In addition, many of the judges teach at the University level, sit on Boards and took the time to volunteer to support World Speech Day.”SPEECH WRITING. .. 7 year old can not write that speech. THIS SPEECH WAS GIVEN AND WRITTEN BY YOU AND YOUR STAFF AND GIVEN TO ALL CHILDREN. THEY WERE JUST SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER AND SPEAK AS PER THEIR PUBLIC SKILLS.YOU DID NOT REPLY TO ANY OF QUESTIONS AND GIVING JUST MAKING FALSE CLAIMS AS IF ALL CHILDREN DID WRITE THEIR SPEECH ON THEIR OWN.EVERY HUMAN MAKES MISTAKE BUT ONLY MATURE PEOPLE CAN ACCEPT, SAY SORRY AND MOVE ON.YOU ARE JUST MAKING EXCUSE AND GIVING GENERAL INFORMATION IN YOUR REPLIES.BY GIVING WRONG RESULT, YOU GIVE IN-JUSTICE TO 2 KIDS.. ONE WHO DESERVED AND ANOTHER ONE!! YOU KNOW MORE THAN ME..

My daughter had a wonderful experience with Power of Words. She was given some great opportunities to excel in writing and speaking.

Power of Words Academy is the best English program we’ve enrolled our kids in. We have seen a great improvement in their writing and confidence in speaking! I highly recommend trying it out.

My son participated in the debate camp offered by Power of Words and he really enjoyed it. It gave him a chance to practice his persuasion and negotiation skills while also giving him a chance to build his public speaking skills. He found his instructor to be engaging and encouraging. Would definitely recommend.
