Villa Italia Retirement Residence

Such a fantastic and clean residence. I was very impressed with the level of care and personal care they give to their residence. Vince is possibly one of the kindest most gentle souls I've ever met in Retirement living. Also after comparing the monthly rates with other options we were shocked to find that there is no compromise on quality even though the cost is significantly lower than others. I would very much recommend Villa Italia to anyone looking for a safe and quality home for their ageing parents.

It is 6 weeks today since my total knee replacement at Jo Brant. My first 4 weeks were spent in respite care at Villa Italia (VI). If not for the exceptional care I received there, I would not be where I am today! I am walking without aids (walker or cane), am driving and have returned to work. I am most indebted to everyone who made this possible and am still in awe when I think back on the amazing and compassionate care I received there.No one was more surprised about my post-op complications than my surgeon who designated me a day surgery patient. Initially, I only booked for a 2-week respite stay at VI. I consider myself very fortunate that I was able to extend my stay for another 2 weeks. My recovery was a slow and complicated one. After a brief period of hospitalization, I came to VI needing a lot of help and further medical investigations. My husband had been actively working with staff before I even arrived to make accommodations to my bed and to ensure I had access to my ice machine which I used every other hour during the day. The Food Services Manager (Mario) immediately addressed my gluten-free diet needs by accessing the products before I arrived and often checked with me directly after I arrived. The meals were all well-balanced and delicious. Mario even went out his way to enter my room when a fire alarm went off to tell me (while I was trying to awkwardly stabilize myself by the bed with my walker) that it was a drill and there was no need for me to exit the facility. So many other staff also exceeded my expectations in many ways - ensuring I had my ice refreshed, that I was resting comfortably (daytime & nighttime), regularly monitoring my vitals, asking to do my laundry and clean my room, etc. etc. etc. And they did their work so effortlessly and with kindness. Once I began to get more mobile with my walker and enjoyed the beautiful premises, I noticed that the staff interacted with the residents in the same way. Rarely have I been in an organization where staff are so pleasant, so engaging and so compassionate.Lastly, my heartfelt thanks to all who so steadfastly never let me give up hope that I would eventually get better!

My mom has been at Villa Italia for 9 years now. She calls it home. I cannot say enough about this special place and its employees. They treat my mom and our family with respect and how we would like to be treated. They reacted and managed the Covid period very well, even though it was stressful for all. I like the size of VI, not too big and everyone knows your name. Food is excellent with lots of fresh vegetables and fruit every day. The variety and attention to Italian cooking is greatly appreciated. My mom flourished after coming here-getting 3 balanced meals everyday.This is a wonderful place -it’s the calm amidst the storm of elderly care. Thank you!

My father moved to Villa Italia in June 2022. After researching a number of retirement homes I knew it would be the only one for my Dad. He was treated with respect and compassion and always called by name. All staff are very responsive and any requests we’ve made are actioned immediately. The facility is clean with a welcoming atmosphere. Great value for the cost. We’ve made the right decision.

Villa Italia is everything you want in a retirement residence. It is exceptionally maintained, the food is great, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure that residents are always happy. A family member recently moved in and they are absolutely loving it. It provides comfort knowing that they are being well taken care of.

6 days agoNEWWhat comes to mind when I think of the Villa. It is warm inviting home for our residents. For those who work at the Villa,the residents are our extended family. When I am at work it's like spending time with my parents & grandparents. I enjoy hearing the stories they share. Seeing them enjoy the great activities and outings,the great Mediterranean meals. The best is when they enjoy a coffee in the Cafe in the evenings and sing songs. Come see for yourselves.

We have found a home for my father to thrive and be in a close knit and caring environment, not just filled with Italian culture, but world wide culture. Vince and the team have created a diverse home with many enjoyable activities. The daily meal menus are exceptional, the ambiance, and attention to detail in care has been a lifesaver for our family. Thank you Villa Italia for the comfortable welcoming home for my father and our family.

My grandmother lived at Villa Italia, as well as my husbands grandmother. We were always so pleased with the environment and the atmosphere with Villa Italia. Such a beautiful, clean, warm and inviting community. The staff always kept our loved ones cared for with compassion and empathy which provided our families with such a comforting peace of mind. We highly recommend Villa Italia as a retirement for anyone seeking options for their loved on.

The Villa Italia staff helped make the transition a very positive experience by always doing their best to accommodate our needs and answer questions. The front desk staff is always pleasant and treats you like family. The personal care staff gives you peace of mind in knowing that your loved one's health concerns are attended to. There are numerous activities to keep the residents engaged if they so choose. Vince is a very dedicated leader and always makes himself available for you.
