DO NOT BUY from Island Made in China Granite… There are better places in Nanaimo to deal with!

Were I able to give Island Granite six or seven stars instead of the maximum five stars, I would do so, because that signifies the level of greater satisfaction I feel regarding their performance in obtaining, cutting, shaping and installing our granite. My wife searched for the granite she wanted for over 4 years, finally discovering the one she really liked in the early summer of 2018. Her choice was a combination of granite and quartzite, a much harder material which requires far greater care in the cutting and shaping of it. Having found the material for the countertop she wanted, she told Diana of Island Granite about it and Diana found several samples of it at various granite suppliers. We paid our 50% deposit and Darrell of Island Granite journeyed to Vancouver to pick up the two slabs we wanted. We visited his workshop to examine them when they arrived. While there, Darrell showed us around his extensive workshop as well as the actual cutting machines and both educated us regarding our granite and answered our many questions, giving us all the time we wanted. Weeks later, our kitchen renovation was ready for the laser measurement of the countertops. Shortly afterwards, we visited the workshop again to lay out the precise measurements of the sections of the slabs we wanted placed in the particular areas we selected for our countertops. We marked the measurements with white out. A few days later Darrell and his son Josh installed the precisely cut sections of granite and quartzite to perfection. The whole process of dealing with every member of the family that owns Island Granite was pleasant, cooperative, and very informative. I give them my highest recommendation. They performed their job with superb competence and for a very reasonable price.Lee Carter

Island Granite supplied a great product at a great price. They were extremely helpful from the start, in offering helpful suggestions as to what product and colour would best suit our cabinet choice as well as what would look best to accent our floor and paint colours.They arrived at the scheduled time to do the laser templating and took the time to discuss all aspects of the job, as to overhangs and returns, sink location etc. as we had no actual written plans for the kitchen.When the day of installation arrived, they were on time and completed a flawless installation, with every section fitting perfectly.We had a large 8' island with bar top, another 6' - L" shape bar top

Island Granite (located on Mostar) shows up with a laser to do the template. One would assume it would fit pretty accurate. Not the case there are gaps as big as 3/8 on the wall.My overhangs on the doors are anywhere from 1" to 1/2".I have a white quartz kitchen and for some reason my seams are black?I could keep on going but whats the point.Don't use Island Granite!(I see you responded and you can't find me in you file because the job was under my wives name. We have no interest in you contacting us as you have said enough.) See you in court!"

Had a great session with one of the young guys. He made great recommendations for quartz countertops, and we even changed our direction for colours because of his advice. When my partner went back to pay the deposit, he didn't remember us, and then accused her of lying about the price that he quoted us the previous week. When we went both went in to try to figure out what was going on, he accused us of intentionally lying to get a better deal, and was belligerent. We opted for one of the other options for counters in the city.

These guys are great. I highly recommend them. I have a home building company and use them for all my homes. Their communication is fantastic with both myself and my clients and the product always turns out looking amazing. Support this family owned and operated business, you won't be disappointed.

Island granite is a fantastic, family-owned and operated business. We initially chose them because their response time was far superior to their competitors, but as time went on, they continued to provide us with endless education and prompt communication to make the right decision for our needs. The installation was amazing & the team were very friendly and efficient. In the end, we have flawless granite countertops in our kitchen & bathrooms, and couldn't be happier with our experience.
