Downsview Endoscopy Clinic

My mother has been having some indigestion for a while so fast forward she got referred to this clinic for an endoscopy/colonoscopy. They did the procedure and we asked 3 times all together; once while confirming the appointment on the phone, twice in the clinic; day of it if there will be female healthcare professionals in the room only; the nurse (either Ryan or Brian) was extremely rude and he did not uphold his ethical responsibilities as a nurse should when taking into account the client’s religious and spiritual well being...another SERIOUS issue (on a medical level)...after the procedure, the physician called us into her office as I distinctly remembered our relief when she said (along the lines of) “everything seems normal, I even checked for helicobacter and didn’t seem to find anything”...ONE MONTH LATER...my family doctor calls to tell us my mother should be on antibiotics as there is h.pylori in her stomach. THE DOCTOR at this clinic PROVIDED A FALSE DIAGNOSIS and this is completely unprofessional and unacceptable; refrain from giving clients false hope!

I went in worried because of these reviews. I personally had the best ( under the circumstances) experience. The staff were very nice, and Dr. Cohen is amazing. He was so kind. There was a bit of a wait, but always in different areas as they prep you, it was all to be expected.

I had gastroscopy and colonoscopy done at this clinic for at least 3 times in the past 12 yrs. And so had my spouse too. Doctors and nurses were very professional and very clean equipments and rooms. I have never experienced anything negative from this office, if they run behind schedule due to emergency, they always keep you informed. I find it is kind of odds that most complaints came from local guide only. Please be fair with your reviews, this is a medical facility and they have to deal with emergency sometimes that may delay your appointment. To be saying doctors were yelling loudly at every patients is really absurd. Doctors are there to do their jobs to the best of their ability, and not there to run a mental ward that they need to yell or abuse their patients.

I could not have been more impressed with the services at this clinic. Exceptional care the entire way through and an extremely smooth process. They go out of their way to keep you informed and comfortable, and only take a small number of patients at a time. Brian was especially thorough and helpful. I will be going back here for future testing needs!

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. This has been the worst experience I have ever had in a medical clinic. I am a heathcare provider/worker and am appalled by this practice. The office staff are extremely unprofessional, except for the front desk receptionist– she is the only one with a sense of decency. Dr. Cohen and his male nurse/assistant are extremely unprofessional, extremely rude and will yell at patients. They do so while you're waiting in the waiting room and while you see them. You will hear them yelling at others and then experience it first hand yourself. The worst part is, they will yell at all patients, no matter their situation. I had a full blown panic attack after how rude they were with the intake questions. The Dr and nurse continued to yell at me, and then yelled at my significant other after we tried to calmly verbalize our concerns. I also waited over an hour to see them, and they rushed me once they had me in before the anesthesia. Incredibly shocked that this healthcare provider is able to do this to patients. I can only imagine how many other people have been verbally attacked by this office. I refused service due to the lack of professionalism. I felt extremely uncomfortable as a patient, and I was a first time patient. Very, very bad first impression.

I had similar thought/hesitation as others due to google review less than 3 stars, but it turned out really well. It was my first time to do colonoscopy....kind and nice receptionist, little bit not friendly male nurse asked me few questions, very friendly and nice doctors and nurses for the colonoscopy...everything was done on time. Based on my experience, this place deserves to get five stars!

I had a procedure here. The entire process took about an hour and half, in a very professional manner, with a great care of staff, nurses and doctors around you. They even handled a discharged briefing with you afterward. Very satisfied, and highly recommended.

I visited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy. I hesitated a lot when I saw Google's review before going to the hospital. The ratings were terrible and the reviews were more uncomfortable. I emailed them seriously concerned about Google's review but they replied not to worry it was a complaint from some patients. Eventually, I didn't have time, so I decided to get tested there. But it was a more horrible place than I heard. I made a reservation at 9:20 and received an email telling me to arrive by 8:50. But I was able to enter the examination room after 10 o'clock. There were many patients, but there were two dressing rooms. There were two lockers and no keys. The doctor who asked the basic question was already exhausted and kept coughing. He made the anxious patient harder with his overbearing and irritating tone. But what's even more ridiculous is that I covered a thin cloth until 11:40 and lay down for more than an hour. There are only three beds in the hallway in front of the bathroom. There were only thin curtains between the beds and the rest were all open. Gastroenterology colonoscopy waited more than 2 hours, and the test ended in less than 10 minutes.I was dizzy and distracted, but I was able to move with my husband's help by urging him to get up and wear shoes. Contrary to the explanation that patients should stay in the hospital for two hours for the safety of patients after the test, they had to leave the hospital in 10 minutes. I will also complain to my family doctor who recommended this place. And to everyone,

This clinic deserves 5 stars ,I just had an endoscopy procedure and the service was super fast , the staff was very professional , and I didn't feel a thing.Don't get discouraged by the bad reviews.I Highly recommend this place.
