Martello Tower

I was living there for 5 years, the first 3 years were amazing, until the management changed, and came up with lots of new rules and price hikes and ruined the most fun and friendly rental building in Vancouver. Glad I moved out.Edit: Unit 902. If you don't have a record of a tenant who lived there for 5 years, that's another proof of poor management. Nice try! here is a photo from my unit.

Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I went to view a suite this morning and waited around for 20 mins before leaving because the person didn't show up. The posting has now also been taken down, so I'm assuming they rented it and no one bothered to tell me. The email I received from who I can only assume is the property manager, because they never told me their name or who they worked for, was extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend this apartment as clearly the manager does not care about the prospective tenants, so why would they care about the ones who live there. Will not consider renting here again.

Just wanted to say thanks for the job your team did opening Martello Tower pool last week. Despite it being the start of a long weekend in which case delays seem routine, your guys showed up as promised and did an outstanding job. Courteous, thorough, knowledgeable and professional.

Horrible, horrible management service. Insulting attitude, rude and irresponsible. Worst building manager ever!She sent us a notice on May 24 that maintenance workers will come into our apartment for bedroom window fixing on June 6 between 8am - 5pm. On June 6, we waited for the whole day, no one showed up.On June 7, when we came back home, our apartment door was wide open and a worker was inside our bedroom doing the work, and he kept the main door open the whole time! The manager didn't inform us about the rescheduling and worker just came in WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE AND PERMISSION TO ENTER OUR HOME.on June 13, she sent another notice that the bedroom window drapes installation will be scheduled on Jun 16, between 10am - 4pm. On Jun 16 today, NO ONE SHOWED UP AGAIN. When we talked to the building manager about it, she said she sent us an email at 9am on Jun 16 for it.She rescheduled it the 3rd time to June 19, next monday between 10am - 4pm. and she claimed that it is not a promising date either. She will only inform us on the day if it is changed again. What a service! As a building manager, how could she not know about the scheduling ? How responsible to only inform us on the day!We also had a wooden floor issue in our apartment. We sent an email (as she always requested in writing) on Jun 1 about it, but up to now, there is still not response about it. They seem not to care about what needs to be fixed in there unless it affects the property value.Overall, very very poor service and extremely RUDE attitude from the building manager. If you want to rent here, you need to reconsider!!

I moved in to my water view 11th floor apartment over a year ago, & couldn’t be happier with my apartment, the view, the building & the current management.I can say from my first phone call, meeting, & all subsequent interactions Mari has been friendly, accommodating, understanding & professional.The rental agent, Ophelia has likewise been friendly & professionalI rate this building for its location, gardens, pool, sauna & it’s management as first rate.

The owners of the building use it as a cash cow to milk us renters dry. Maintenance issues are never attended to unless there’s a risk of damage to the value of the building. They recently replaced all the windows with new ones that obstruct the once beautiful views by placing a large black bar right across the middle so they can save money. They took down the blinds and refuse to replace them leaving my south facing unit exposed to sun from about 4:30 am in the summer. They didn’t send an email when the workers were going to come so they just barged in at 8am when I was naked. There was a leak in my bathroom ceiling that caused water damage and they refuse to fix the damage. The toilet handle falls off once a month and I have to open it up and fix it myself because they refuse to fix it. The cleaning staff locks the elevator at morning rush hour so you have to wait forever to get down the up to 31 flights of stairs. Neighbours are always moving in and out also locking up the elevator constantly as well. Basically any basic services that you would expect in a functioning rental apartment are absent in a pathetic attempt to recoup the money lost when they massively overpaid for this apartment building a couple years ago.

I have been living here for the past 2 years and have had no issues this is a great building love the amenities.. the 2 sauna rooms open 24 hours.. the laundry room.. the vending machine is very convenient it even has macaroni and cheese and soups LOL the pool is fantastic and beautiful it is actually the best Garden Pool in the city my brother used to live here 20 years ago and friends have lived as well. The pool was closed for the beginning of Summer that was due to Renovations on the outer exterior of the building.. sure that was a bummer but if they didn't do it now when would have it have been done. I'm glad it's done it's almost finished the pool is open.. every person I've met in this building is very friendly.. if I've never had an issue...everytime I have talked to management things have been taken care of within a day or two and the caretaker Shane is the best maintenance man around s*** gets done here quick and he is always happy to help even to put up mirrors all you got to do is ask. I have never had an issue with management to me they have been friendly attentive and very informative. Martello Tower is the best rental building in town in my opinion and would recommend anybody to live here.

Living in this building gives you lifestyle and access to all the best that Vancouver has to offer. The seawall is right across the street, the aquatic center with a gym is too. You can walk downtown, to Yaletown, or take the aquabus to Granville island for the freshest grocery shopping, pubs, lounges and art events. The outdoor pool and surrounding garden are unparalleled. The view is spectacular too. It’s like living in seaside resort. I have had a very caring and accommodating experience with the building management. Highly recommend. Quite possibly the best value with most amenities downtown.

I've just moved to this building recently and had a great and smooth experience of rental contract with the building manager, Mari. She always gives me smile, and was really supportive in our move to the building.

Moved in January. By April all hell broke loose with our health. ER visits. Increased panic and anxiety in my boyfriend. Random illness. Tons of tests with no cause found. More and more respiratory and neurological symptoms. When stepping into the kitchen, within 30 seconds I had tightness in my chest, and within 5, I’d be shaking and feeling like my body was being crushed. I could only do 10 minute stints. If my bf was in the livingroom or kitchen (or laundry room) for more than 20 minutes, he’d be in a ball of panic the rest of the day. By July we could only be in the bedroom, which had the AC and air purifier. We intended to live there a few years, but by September we had to call it and moved out. It’s a sick building. Beware!!
