EDIT: We ran into one of the owners today and he was really apologetic and sweet. It may have been fate; but we were touched by this interaction and will definitely give Steel and Timber another try.Hello, I just had to make it known that I came it your shop a minute ago with my partner and not 1 of your sales persons asked us if we needed any help. We were the only people of Colour that were there, so our presence was obvious. I saw floor personnel snacking and eating and simply just walking past us like we didn’t matter and went to the white clients. While I don’t want to chump anything to race, this was blatantly obvious and disrespectful. We walked in and a white part did after us and they were greeted, while we weren’t. 3 sales people came into the room where we were and did ask us if we needed any help, but instead went to white lady who already had a persons assistance. Sadly, we left and didn’t purchase anything, as we would never patronize a business who doesn’t value every client. I will steer every person of Colour away from this store, I would never want anyone to experience this.

I am in the urban wood business, and I've worked with Steel and Timber on several projects over the past few years. Sean and his team have always been professional, friendly and reliable, and their work is top notch. My reputation is important to my livelyhood, and I frequently refer my clients to Steel and Timber when they need something that I can't help them with. That says a lot.

We had a live edge spalted maple bar top made by Sean and his team for our event rental business. Some unfortunate circumstances arose resulting in the loss of our original piece. Sean was quick to respond and had another beautiful piece (from the same tree) made in record timing. The level of customer service was something to shoot for as a fellow business owner and the piece is a stunning addition to our rental inventory. 18 months ago we found Steel and Timber on Facebook and contacted them for a custom walnut dining table. We loved the fun of every step of the process as we co-created this beautiful table with Sean and his team. They were knowledgable, open, enthusiastic, HIGHLY skilled, meticulous, accountable and on time! Along the way, during our visits to their workplace, we fell in love with three other coffee tables and then commissioned a hall table, a rustic bench, cutting boards and four more coffee tables. All this furniture adds elegance, rich natural wood tones and artistry to our home. It is solid and beautiful. We got exactly what we asked for and so much more. Their brand new space of showroom and workspace in Ancaster is amazing! Steel and Timber Custom Designs is ready for business! Steel and Timber did an absolutely amazing job! We asked them to create a clean and simple custom fireplace mantle. Did they ever deliver. They made suggestions to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Communication with them was superb! Our mantle is perfection! We can’t wait for them to create another piece for our home.
