One of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Vancouver does not disappoint.

First off, the food is not bad. The pork stomach and ginko nut long boiled soup is amazing. I would not recommend the geoduck with eggs. There are stickers on the doors saying no smoking"

Their signature silky scrambled eggs pair wonderfully with any stir-fried dish, boasting tenderness and delightful flavors. The stir-fried abalone with scallions is also a noteworthy choice. While the overall dining experience is pleasant, it would be even better if the ambiance were improved with more spacious table arrangements.

Amazing Chinese food. Coming from Hong Kong and having eaten some of the best Chinese seafood restaurants in Hong Kong and around the world, I will go to say that bamboo grove ranks among the top and even better than a lot of that I have had in Hong Kong. Will 100% come back

Make a reservation, Ignore the menu, get this:Ginko pork stomach soup (the greatest thing we had, and there was so much!)Spicy eggplant and prawns (a personal favourite! The sauce was to die for!)Prime and crispy beans. Also got some delicious flat noodles, but I was too busy eating to take more pictures! Great location for a family group, round tables and dark decore. It's loud, but that's exactly what families are like. My boyfriend has seen a lot, I mean a LOT, of Chinese style family restaurants. He rated this 4.5 stars and he is very dicerning!!! I'm giving it the full five because lawdy that soup! I will be back....

Very delicious product, and the attitude of the service staff makes the guests feel like they are at home. My friend and I like to come to this restaurant, the taste and service bring us happiness.

Tried two winning dishes from 2021 ChineseRestaurantAwards Critic’s choice list at Bamboo Grove: “Abalone ginger and green onion hotpot” and “BC geoduck with scrambled egg.” The abalone hotpot was excellent - the abalone was cooked perfectly - tender and flavorful. The scrambled egg geoduck was ok. Separately, the scrambled egg was very good - but combined with geoduck, it does not enhance but rather covers the delicate flavor of the geoduck. In my opinion, it does not worth the $128 price for the dish. The abalone hotpot (with 4 pieces) costs $88 and needs to be preordered the day before.

Definitely overpriced, possibly dishonest.ordered a fried chive with few little clam and it took 45 dollars, it’s insane. This dish would not cost more than 20 in other similar Cantonese restaurants. This place is either being dishonest or it is simply overpriced for other reasons.. I highly suspect they just scam you if they tell that you are not familiar with the local market price. The way the show you the receipt is also suspicious. They did it in a hand writing paper with chinese which you can hardly tell even if you can read Chinese, many of their dishes have no price in the menu or they sometimes recommend food which is not on menu at all, and they can simply invent an insane price for it in which case you can not really argue about. They also don’t show you the fish before cooking it when you order a live fish or other seafood, which is usually a typical way for Cantonese style restaurants to show honesty to customers (aka to prove they give you fresh live seafood instead of dead)will not come back. The food is fine to be fair but its delicious-ness level definitely doesn’t match its price.. highly suspect they are being dishonest, plus very crowded and shady parking lot…
